Reality bites. Either naivete or willful stupidity tricked us into thinking the “bright” people who made Rawanda and Mexico into the “paradises” they are would someone emigrate to the U.S. (primarily for the freebies handed out by our government) and, voila!, become red blooded Americans.
My view? If we would discontinue our welfare programs and allow the free market to decide, then let ‘em in. They would either produce or starve. But allowing them to come in and handing out the goodies is just national suicide.
Nonsense. The "free market" would decide that several hundred million would choose to come to the US. Open borders, with or without welfare programs, would cause the US to be overrun by many millions per year. Actually, it would be people in very poor nations deciding to come, not the free market.
