Bret Baier just said on Special Report that senior officials are telling various news outlets that Obama is going to ask for 20,000 more troops for Afghanistan. Nothing up on the website yet or anywhere else- just reported. Expect to hear the offical announcement within the week.

In the East is Pakistan, in the west, Afghanistan...on either border there are large numbers of Pashtun( who do not consider themselves either Pakistani or afghani..). That is where the Taliban hangs out, Pashtun ARE Taliban.

No, they don't. Lyndon Obama already sent in a surge of new troops at the beginning of his term. Now he is sending even more. To say the Democrats want OUT simply flies in the face of facts. It isn't surprising either. Ever since Wilson, the Democrats have been the party of war and international nanny-statism. How does it feel to be on Obama's side?
You're previous point about a Taliban victory is more than a little pat. The Taliban is not a single entity per se but a loose coalition of various groups and factions who oppose the Pakistani and Afghani governments.
Who determines that? Oh...I forgot, the man Obama appointed, McChystral (at least when he isn't covering up the Pat Tillman killing) is God and conservatives are obligated to slavishly obey his every whim.
