But it's not like he will travel draped in a rainbow-colored flag. First of all, there will most likely be no official mention of the fact that he's gay by any Arab officials. And secondly, it's a question of power and interdependence, plain and simple. Germany's the world's fourth largest econonomy (after the US, China and Japan) and probably half of Saudi Arabia's military equipment has German parts in it. So when Angela Merkel visited Saudia Arabia, protocoll officials simply informed the Arabs that the German chancellor won't be wearing a headscarf - and noone made a fuzz.
Same for Condi Rice. Pelosi on the other hand...

did you all know that WESTERWELLE already has come out of the closet??! Yes I knew that four years ago when Germany had its last national elections. What I want to know is why are you so fixated on it that you must post the same thing in every thread about the German election? Did he turn you down?
