The American Self Immolation, Truly a Sight to See
Pravda.Ru ^ | 19.10.2009 | Stanislav Mishin

As my readers know, I am a fan of economics and of history, as well as politics, a combination that forms some very interesting cycles to research, discuss and argue on. None is so interesting than the death of great nations, for here there is always the self destruction that comes before the final breakups and invasions. As they say: Rome did not fall to the barbarians, all they did was kick in the rotting gates.
It can be safely said, that the last time a great nation destroyed itself through its own hubris and economic folly was the early Soviet Union (though in the end the late Soviet Union still died by the economic hand). Now we get the opportunity to watch the Americans do the exact same thing to themselves. The most amazing thing of course, is that they are just repeating the failed mistakes of the past. One would expect their fellow travelers in suicide, the British, to have spoken up by now, but unfortunately for the British, their education system is now even more of a joke than that of the Americans.

It is pretty sad when you have to depend on Russian media to report where we are headed.

We’ll be fine once we get a Republican back in the White House. Preferably with a Republican majority in Congress, because that worked out so well the last time.

I would like to think so, but the author seems to disagree:

"The unfortunate truth here is: the Republicans and Tories are the Mensheviks to the Democrat and Labour Bolsheviks. In other words, they are the slightly less radical fellow travellers who are to stupid to realize that once their usefulness is done, they will go the very camps they will help send the true opposition to. A more deserving lot was rarely born. Of course half of the useful idiots in the Bolshevik groupings will go to those very same camps."

I hope he is wrong but am not holding my breath.

Never in my life did I dream that I would read something in Pravda and think “Damn right”!

Wow...how eery that Pravda should now ring truer than the NYT —I’m getting the weird feeling that in the USA major political revelations could come even from young college kids armed with nothing more than a Chinchilla coat and a camcorder..!

Oh, wait..

That brings us to Cap and Trade. Never in the history of humanity has a more idiotic plan been put forward and sold with bigger lies....Even the Soviets never created such idiocy.

To laugh, or to cry? It'd be hilarious if it weren't true.

"That brings us to Cap and Trade. Never in the history of humanity has a more idiotic plan been put forward and sold with bigger lies. Energy is the key stone to any and every economy, be it man power, animal po.... Never in history, with the exception of the Japanese self imposed isolation in the 1600s, did a government actively force its people away from economic activity and industry. Even the Soviets never created such idiocy."

If I didn't know better, I'd say Mark Steyn wrote this. Read it and weep.

We didn't have a Republican in the White house. We had a social conservative and evangelical.

IOW, a RINO.

Cap and Trade is an interesting thing. Everbody assumes it’s the wingnut eco-liberals pulling for it, which gives it an air of defeatability. But the fact is the financial giants want it...and that’s why it’s a done deal.

2 Timothy, chapter 3

“1”: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

“2”: For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

“3”: Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

“4”: Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

“5”: Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

“6”: For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

“7”: Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

“8”: Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

“9”: But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

“10”: But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

“11”: Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

“12”: Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

“13”: But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

“14”: But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

“15”: And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

“16”: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

“17”: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

[The Christian era, the days of the Messiah, are the last dispensation - ‘the last days’. These things were occurring at the time this was written. They are occurring now.
When man draws nigh to God, God draws nigh to him. The things mentioned here are what happens when men do not have God in their lives. We have a choice as individuals and as a nation. How we choose determines our fate, and the fate of our nation.
One has only to read the Bible to see the evidence of it from the beginning of time, and to understand the evidences of history repeating itself today.
The prophets of old were warning the people by the authority of God. Today we have the inspired written word of God.
The prophet Hosea said back then, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee...” (Hosea 4:6).
We either choose God, learn of Him from His Holy Word, and obey His Will and Way, or we are destroyed. “LJ”]

The danger in reading a Russian report on the state of the US is that...based in fact, the Russians want us to fail. They want us to go through the same economic devestation they’ve gone through. They would revel in our downfall. If you poke around their site and especially the comments section, these people HATE Fox News and Rupert Murdoch. They HATE conservatives and America.

It is a sad day indeed that we sit here agree wholeheartedly with the state of our country through Russian news.

Its not as if we haven't been warned.

True, most American voters are blind, but they are blind because of the failure - or design - of the Marxists in academia and the media. They enabled Marxist politicians who will yet kill the goose that laid the golden egg.

I know I'm stating the obvious, but the irony is so profound I can't help but comment.

Regardless of whether they want us to fail, the article is right on target. If my enemy tells me that 2 + 2 = 4, I am not going to reject the information simply because he is my enemy. Truthful reporting is in such short supply that I am not picky where I look for it. Besides, if you compare this report with anything found in the MSM, can you honestly say that it is more destructive to the cause of American liberty?

Just to be clear, this is not the same Pravada that was the mouthpiece of the communist U.S.S.R. Pravda.RU is a Russian Nationalist publication which does not seem to have a lot of love lost for the communist system that destroyed Russia.

I know! I agreed with the article as well. It’s sad that we have to go to Canada, UK, Australia or Russia to get the real story. I’m ashamed of the MSM. I’m just wondering why they are so blindly following the line of BS the WH is feeding them. Have they received tax rewards for being loyal to BO? I just don’t understand. If America goes under, they go under too.

Everything that is happening makes absolutely no sense.

The media itself is populated with “True Believers” who see themselves as playing a key role in electing Obama. In short, they are historical change agents and are not about to let something like objective journalism get in the way of their self image.
