Aye Carumba! Marge Simpson Poses For Playboy Cover (More Proof of Society's Decline)
Yahoo ^ | October 17, 2009 | DON BABWIN

Marge Simpson has done something that Homer might not like but will make Bart the proudest kid in his school: She's posed for Playboy magazine.

After more than a half century featuring women like Marilyn Monroe, Cindy Crawford and the Girls of Hooters on its cover, Playboy has for the first time given the spot to a cartoon character.

And the magazine is giving the star of "The Simpsons" the star treatment, complete with a data sheet, an interview and a 2-page centerfold.

The magazine's editorial director, James Jellinek, won't say exactly how much of Marge will show in the November edition that hits newsstands on Oct. 16 — or whether she lets that big pile of blue hair down. But, he said, "It's very, very racy."

But he stressed that the mother of three — the youngest a baby, by the way — has a lot to be proud of.

Will it answer the question, does the carpet match the drapes?

Ironically, Marge’s breasts are more real than the average Playmate’s these days.

Scarlett, Lady Jaye, or Covergirl? Maybe go out for some 80’s anime characters?

The Simpsons actually get pretty good reviews from Christian groups; they’re an American family (still on their original marriage) that had another child after already having “the boy and the girl”, they attend religious services weekly, the main religious character (Ned Flanders) is shown in a very positive light (although the reverend isn’t, but probably shouldn’t be), and they don’t live a materialistic lifestyle (stay-at-home Mom, for example). What other show, animated or not, in the past 20 years has all those components?

I don’t know if Mary Worth is still around, but the Simpsons “Comic Book” guy claims to have a rare strip where Mary encourages a friend to commit suicide...

: )

I watch the simpsons with my kids although its gotten more and more liberal.

That said, Playboy is trash. Run by an 80+ year old guy surrounded by plastic women. Look up the word pathetic and you’ll find a picture of Hef.

I’m suprised. I always thought that Cartman’s mom would be the first cartoon character to pose for Playboy.

I won’t dispute that about Playboy; a real high point of Western Civilization (NOT). I watch with my kids, too, but with one hand on the remote lately; you never know where they’ll go nowadays (with some gay stuff, which I don’t want to explain to them yet, though they’re getting an idea from classmates). I think the more liberal stuff is the creators’ frustrations coming through; on the one hand, they show Homer vote for Obama. On the other hand, Homer’s retarded. I’m not sure what the intended message was...

Cartman’s mom was on the cover of Crackwhore Monthly back in season 1 or 2. (I think that was the name of the magazine)

Probably the intention is about the same as it was with Archie Bunker.

Of definitely. I'm a lot more mature and I like a more mature cartoon woman these days.
