WILMINGTON, Del. -- Delaware Republican congressman Michael Castle is announcing that he's running for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Democrat Joe Biden last year after Biden was elected vice president.
In a brief, exclusive interview with The Associated Press before his news conference, Castle said he's running because he can do more for Delaware in the Senate than in the House.

The common sense, logical part of me knows you are absolutely correct. However, there is another part of me that totally blames the mean spirited nature of Tom Carper and his campaign for Bill’s death.
I know that is totally illogical, highly emotional, and purely personal, but I adored Bill Roth, and have had a long standing personal dislike of Carper. Being in the same room with the man would literally make my skin crawl.

Can you believe he used Center for American Progress (yep - That ultra-liberal crew led by John Podesta - you know, the organization that Van Jones came from and went back to after Glenn Beck called him out - yeah, that’s the organization) to justify how much money and how many jobs Delaware would gain by the bill?

NO, I don’t think I will have anything further to do with him... Yes, I could go on and on pointing out other problems with him, but suffice to say that from the sound of callers on WGMD today following his announcement, Republican support will be limited.

We have had some really Great Conservative Senators - John Williams, Cale Boggs, Bill Roth. I knew those three - wonderful, honest men. Castle is not even close to their caliber.
I never met John Williams and I didn’t know Cale really well, but I sure did know Bill. I have a VERY treasured photo of Bill and I with my then 4 month old daughter taken in Georgetown on Returns Day 1998.
Mike Castle is no Bill Roth. Nor is Tom Crapper for that matter, but that’s a whole other topic!!!
