BREAKING: Eight U.S. troops die in attacks in Afghanistan

Eight American soldiers and two Afghans have been killed in an attack on two outposts in remote eastern Afghanistan, the U.S. military said on Sunday.

A tribal militia launched the attack from a mosque and a nearby village in Nuristan, one of the most dangerous regions of Afghanistan, the U.S. military said in a statement. The Americans and Afghans repelled the attack and "inflicted heavy enemy casualties," the statement said.

In the U.S. statement, Col. Randy George described it as "a complex attack in a difficult area." The Taliban claimed responsibility.

I bet it would be an issue for you if it were your son/brother/sister/relative that got killed because the rules of engagement were changed to make it harder for our troops to defend themselves. There’s also a reason Obama’s general asked for more troops...the same reason there’s an increase in casualties right now. Your moral relativism makes me puke in my mouth a little. :)

Every death of an American soldier in Afghanistan can be laid at the door of our feckless CIC who is just as guilty as those Taliban or foreign islamist death squads who pulled the triggers or set off the detonators.

Were President Bush still in office, the commanders in Afghanistan would have had the added soldiers they need YESTERDAY.

With Hussein, health care, the Olympics, and celebrating this anniversary are just higher up on the list than our soldiers that are bleeding, and being wounded, and DYING. It is sickening.

Good points--I saw a show on the Weather underground, the SDS and other anti war groups from the 60's, it may have been on the History Channel, not sure. But you could see in the the 40 year old footage from their gatherings many posters and signs decrying the US soldiers as babykillers and murderers, along with support for the Viet Cong and many of these scum were also carrying the North Vietnamese flag. Guess where many the leaders of these groups are now?Sitting on the CIC's shoulder squirting poison into his all too willing ears!

Expect no support, militarily or moral, for our troops in Aghanistan, Iraq or anywhere for tht matter from this rabble that surrounds our feckless CIC, himself included
