There’s a couple of ways I’ve thought of since this question came up. One uses imagery analysis, the other population density.

In the long view of the rally, you can enlarge a small section closer to the camera, physically count the people in that area, and then use a map to estimate the physical size of that area, for example half the street in width, one quarter of one block long, X people. Then use the map to find the areal multiplier, and you’ll get a rough estimate of the number on the street.

Vanishing point geometry means you don’t want to overlay the sample area on the images to get an estimate, since the area would appear progressively smaller with distance from the camera viewpoint.

The other method requires past studies of crowd density at similar events, time the physical area of the total event to arrive at the number.

I’m not sure the payoff will be worth the effort, in either event. Liberals are liberals precisely because they lack the mental discipline to complete the difficult tasks, then spend the rest of their lives denying reality and logic in order to deny or excuse their perceived weakness, to themselves. It is an exercise in self delusion that allows them to escape the consequences of their own lack of self discipline.

They won’t believe you, no matter what your proof.

But they saw the images, same as you and they know that for every person there, there are 1000 who wanted to be there but could not.

They know we are going to vote in 2010, they know we are the engine that provides the wealth they covet, and in many instances of extreme weaknesses, require to survive, and they know that that huge mass of angry people are the only reason gun store shelves have been sold-out, empty for over a year now.

Any number you provide gives them an out, an escape from what their own eyes saw, a way for them to deny to themselves what they saw, and to avoid the clear implications that we have had enough, have drawn our lines of battle and are ready to do whatever it takes to defend and protect the US Constitution.
