Sex Addiction Clinic For Berlusconi?

The author of a book about Silvio Berlusconi's wife says aides to the Italian prime minister want him to get treated for sex addiction.

An updated version of "The Veronica Trend" by Maria Latella is scheduled to hit bookstores Wednesday, The Times of London reported. Veronica Lario, a former actress, has threatened to divorce Berlusconi.

In the book, Latella says some aides have suggested Berlusconi and Lario announce a formal separation, with Lario then privately working to help her husband. Berlusconi would stay for a week or two in a clinic specializing in sex addiction.

"This scenario hasn't been completely ruled out, and much will depend on how much the press -- above all overseas -- will continue to be fascinated by Berlusconi's private life," Latella said.

Lario told her divorce may be the only option, Latella said.

"I can't. He would tell me yet another lie and this time I couldn't stand it," Lario reportedly answered when Latella asked her why she did not try to talk to her husband. "I can't condemn myself to being his wet nurse, and now I can't stop him making himself look ridiculous in the eyes of the world."

Dude you might as well throw in the entire MLB, NFL, NBA into sex addiction if that’s all it takes. The Beatles, Led Zeppelin. I mean come on!

Man, calling “sex addiction” a disease... while I understand there are some truly clinical cases where it is a real psychological condition, it is getting a bit ridiculous when every famous person who can’t keep in their pants all the sudden has this “disease”.

Nobody will call things what they are anymore. I’m not a lecher, I’m a sex addict. I’m not a glutton, I’m a food addict. I’m not shy, I have “Social Anxiety Disorder”. My kid is not rambunctious, he has “ADD/ADHD”. My kid is not socially inept due to tv & video games, he has “Autism Spectrum Disorder”. I wonder how long until they start telling us that serial killers are just “Murder Addicts” who can be cured by a 12 step program?

To paraphrase Heston on Clinton, if we can’t trust him with our daughters, why would we trust him with our country?

The Prime Minister doesn’t suffer from sex addiction. From all appearances, he enjoys it very much.

Today it was announced that Berlusconi is sending his teams of lawyers out to sue folks for libel in a number of countries.

He's really, really, really rich guys ~ and he doesn't care for all this discussion about his hobbies.

Suspiciously he is not reported as planning any such lawsuits in the United States (which should suggest to anyone but the the terminally breain dead that it's all true ~ drums beating in the background, harder and harder, and harder).

...or that it’s bloody near impossible to win a libel suit here, whether he was libeled or not, and both he (as a media guy) and his lawyers know it.

That said, it all very well may be twoo. I just wouldn’t argue that based on his not filing suit over here.
