Given the pools toxic waste that pass for “culture” in some of those places...
I have long supported adding birth control to the public water supply.

As my wife the nurse points out, most hospitals already have programs like this. Of course, those programs are completely optional, apply mainly to very young first time parents and nobody laughs out loud when they describe the people doing the home visits as “well-trained and competent.”

No, but what’s your point?
I don’t think HHS has a SWAT team....

Page # 840 shows clearly that it is Children Services made even more intrusive. WHO decides if kids are maltreated?

In Arizona we recently created jobs teaching Mexican women how to breast feed their babies. I am not making this up. My wife did several years as a post-partum nurse and also did in-home pediatric care (usually for extremely sick kids). There is often a need for lactation consulting and it does reduce costs, long term, particularly as regards the development of the immune system. Without it, allergies, asthma, and potentially even arthritis would be more common. Obviously, not all parents need it, but some kids do have trouble getting started even with an experienced parent (I would bet children of drug abusing mothers especially).
If you want some gross swag numbers, I'll ask.
The problem here are the powers these brainwashed and unionized nurses will possess, everybody here knows it, but don't disparage the occasional technical need or financial leverage of early-childhood medical intervention. It's real. The lack does represent some of the failings of the existing system. However, this bill, in the name of solving a legitimate technical problem with significant financial impact, produces new social problems all on its own. That's where we need to keep our focus.

Exactly and great point. I’ve been thinking about that too. Who wrote this bill?!
Does anyone know?

Don’t open the door to the state, because once inside you start losing control. If the state misinterprets or disagrees with you about something, it would be just cause to come for your children. At that point, you are only left with Churchill’s axim if they come to your door for your children:
“You can always take one of them with you.”
It would be one less government stooge to invade the home of another citizen.

My wife and I have been seriously considering moving to a more friendly country like Ukraine. With what’s left of my investments we could live pretty well over there. We have friends that run a Christian Academy in Kiev that is fully accredited by the sate. They are looking for teachers, specially english speakers, and Ukraine has such a small Muslim population it doesn’t even show on their demographic charts.

Consider if you will, what it might have been like for a new mother named Stanley Ann Dunham in late 1961 after the birth of her bouncing baby Barack if government controlled 0bamaCare were in effect at that time...
"Hello Mrs. Dunham?"
"Yes?"
"We are from your local Federal Health Care Office and congratulations on your new addition to the family!"
"Thank you, we're very happy."
"Of course you are, and we have noted that you have quite a travel history around the world, visiting Kenya and other exotic nations, quite an exciting life for a young lady not even 20 years old!"
"Well I've always been called a free spirit (nervous giggle)"
"And we have noted that you were signed up for college classes only 2 weeks after giving birth to Baby Barack, your dedication to your continued education is to be commended!"
["what a cute little baaaybe, coochi-coochi-coooo?" @SNAP-SNARL@ "OWWWW, the little bastard BABY bit me!!"]
"Yes the University of Seattle had a very progressive curriculum (now Barack, Mommy has told you not to bite people unless they're Republicans)"
"Did you find traveling from Honolulu to Seattle a bit stressful so soon after giving birth?"
"uhhhhh no not really, I was feeling much stronger"
"Of course, now in light of your very active life Mrs. Dunham, and your propensity to travel, our child development team has determined that Baby Barack would benefit from our 'Patriotic Young American Kids' program, and we have enrolled you and Baby Barack into our pre-school program where he will learn the Pledge of Allegiance, the basics of our Constitution, the threat of international Communism which has reached even into our own hemisphere in Cuba, and of course we will be teaching Baby Barack the basis upon which America was founded, i.e., our strong Judeo-Christian traditions, and Vacation Bible School will be available for your child when he reaches 1 year of age."
"Well, I'm not sure if I want Barack enrolled in such a curriculum..."
"Well Mrs Dunham, this is not a voluntary program, this is federally mandated initiative which is compulsory for all citizens, as President Kennedy's brother Ted said, "from womb to tomb", I just know that one day he's going to make quite a splash in politics on his own, don't you?"
"Oh I'm sure of that, the Kennedys are wonderful but I really don't want to participate in the Federal Health Care program at this time"
"I'm sorry Mrs Dunham, non-participation would expose you to legal penalties which would be most unpleasant and an unwelcome monetary burden due to fines and in some extreme cases, even imprisonment."
"Fines? Imprisonment?"
"Yes but with voluntary participation on your part today, I can assure you that Baby Barack will have the very best that America has to offer, from early education in the American way of life, strong anti-Communist teachings, and solid Christian family values"
"Could I perhaps discuss this with Barack's father first?"
"Of course, who IS Baby Barack's father by the way?"

The younger people had better pay attention. Don’t be fooled that these town halls are strictly the geezer population’s purview. What about YOUR future pregnancies that may reveal a handicapped child? My daughter was born in 1987 with a hole in her diaphragm. They whisked her away to a children’s hosptial where she immediately received newly innovated lifesaving surgery. They totally solved her problem, with no further effects. But it was very high-stakes stuff that involved the most high-tech procedures available, and days in ICU. Under Obama, this beautiful young woman’s postnatal surgery might be deemed unworthy.
