You know something. I look at the Bill of Rights and I don't see anything about "concerned women." There is all sorts of stuff there about a man and his castle though. And to the latter I would always extend the benefit of doubt when it is his word against an agent of the state. So... if a neighbor sees somebody attempting to break in your door, and they call the police, should the police just do nothing?

No. But if the police come to my house they shouldn't order me outside. I expect they would ring my doorbell; and that seeing me open the door, they would ask if there was any problem. I would tell them, "No," and they would go away.
