I used to follow some of the threads here in the 90s, when Freepers were meeting Clitong everywhere he went, look at all of those rallies and be encouraged, but it’s true, I didn’t join the discussions til last November. Here's my (hopefully) last words on this.
I thought (and continue to think) that SB raised a legitimate question. I was sorry (but not surprised) to see him flamed for it. I am sorry (but not surprised) to see a personal attack on SB's integrity for no good reason at all.
I tend to try to take everyone at face value, regardless of signup dates. I detected absolutely nothing in SB's question that merited suspicion or the derision that has been heaped on him.
We all know about "BDS" (Bush Derangement Syndrome) - the left's rabid hatred of the President. We thought that unfair, immature and invalid for rational discourse. I hope Freepers never give in to that easy way of forming our mindsets and opinions from LDS (Liberal Derangement Syndrome).
If we have truth on our side (which I believe we do) and if we understand how the world works (which I believe we do), then we use facts, logic and clear thinking to make our points.
I found it telling that the original poster finally went off the deep end (accusing SB of being Chris Parry - was that his name?) instead of defending his inclusion of that weak charge. My guess is that he realizes the weakness, but for whatever reason refuses to own that.
Why others have felt the need to pile on, I leave to them to explain, if they are so inclined.
