Palin 2012. Hypothetical narrative.
If this is what she runs on and does it well then watch the hell out:
Im Sarah Palin, and Im running to be Citizen-In-Chief.
I entered politics to change something. I ran to serve my state, the great state of Alaska, and then for the vice-presidency because I care about this country.
I saw first-hand the viciousness and pettiness that have made Americans fed up with politicians, politics as usual, and the destructive personal attacks that also go on far too often. Those sorts of things that public service should never be about.
I thought I could serve my country best by being removed from that environment.
I dont need a title to bring to Washington the change America really needs: a dose of humility in a federal government that has completely lost touch with its citizens.
So I come to you today as an Alaskan, as a parent of a soldier, and as a mother of five. I am running not as a member of the elite, of the establishment but of the everyday. I ask to serve you as president because I have shared your experiences and I understand your disgust with the system. What we need today is not a ruler, but a servant. A servant of the people. A servant of America.
I will govern as first among equals, not as your ruler. Not as the Queen of Washington, giving orders that descend from on high. I know firsthand how that culture of selfishness and personal destruction in Washington harms lives. I ask for your support because I share your disgust with the system. And if you will fight with me, if you will put that trust in me to do that then you can trust me, also, to change it.
Pitiful to you - righteous to me.
Yeah...this administration ran on a policy of transparency and that is exactly what she and Chip Reid were going off about....pre-packaged homogenized shams called town-hall meetings....
Then again, I think I’d rather swim. “Bailing out” just leaves a bad taste in my mouth for some reason.
I guess it’s okay to lie to the electorate, but not the press, huh? Somehow, I don’t feel much sympathy for Helen and the rest of them.
I got a kid on the way, so it's more than I'd like in this Oconomy, but fair is fair.
To be clear though we are betting that Palin won't ( or in my case WILL) be the next presidential candidate for the republicans.
This is fun but have you thought about backing up your declaration?
That might be more in tune to FR’s stated purpose.
Anything is better than drowning in a sea of liberal/socialist ideology...:o)
Oh don't get me wrong...I have no sympathy either...just sayin'...the ass-kissers are getting testy...:o)
‘nite all...hey it’s been fun!...:o)
Fun to watch them turn on each other, but alas, it won’t last. Too bad. If I was an optimist I’d say that maybe the press will drift back towards responsible journalism. I’m not an optimist.
Great talking to you! Good night.
‘night Niteflyr, I enjoy your posts, good stuff.
I’m outta here too. It was a pleasure debating you (or whatever we were doing.) LOL
Good night.
Come on! we agreed on almost everything and you brought up great points to contemplate.
Thats goood stuff right there!
Good night, keep up the good fight!
“I am running not as a member of the elite, of the establishment...”
And this is why she is detested by the three headed lizard; the media, the Democrats, and Rino’s.
Ok. Your post landed at number 75 on this thread, although I see you posted to #1.
You probably should have read to post 75 before making that statement, because unfortunately for you, your post is now "bookmarked".
I go with your senario
the trouble with term limits is that it estabilishes an elite staff who alone knows what is going on and where the bodies are buried....
Un-elected staff would run the country.
“Un-elected staff would run the country.....”
WOULD?!! they ALREADY do so....each congressman has staffs of hundreds...each senator thousands....they dwell within the DC beltway...who KNOWS what “part-time consulting” they perform for industry impacted by pending legislation?!!!
and term limits would make it much worse.
