Analysis: Palin Was Fed Up (CBS now acting like innocent bystanders)

With the stunning news of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s sudden resignation, it is easy to jump to the conclusion that there is "something else out there" that has forced her to make this decision. There might well be, but ever since her return to Alaska after her electoral defeat in November, it has been very clear that she has loathed the new dynamic that has greeted her there.

The recent Mark Sanford saga and other political scandals have trained us to assume the worst, but as a former campaign aide who remains close to Palin cautions, "It’s a sad commentary when people jump to negative conclusions."

During her first year-and-a-half as governor, Palin seemingly could do no wrong as she frequently reached across the aisle to Democrats, racked up a string of high-profile legislative successes, and caught the eye of John McCain when she challenged the Republican presidential nominee’s views on drilling in ANWR during their first face to face meeting in February of 2008.

But her beloved Alaska has been anything but accommodating since the McCain/Palin campaign’s electoral defeat in November. She has been under a constant barrage of attacks there from critics, who have been joined by many of the same people who had once been her political allies.

I think Sarah has just turned, like a fed-up mama Bear, on her detractors. She has put things in order, she has left them in the hands of capable people, and she has now turned to face her enemies directly.

Sarah would be wise to lend her talents to fund raising for conservative candidates and building a support base for a future attack against these vermin. She will do well.

I believe she'll do both, and do them well.

She’s too good for politics. Who can blame her for wanting to get out of the snake pit! Most politicians suck so BAD.
It’s only by the hand of God that we make it and the sick corruption can go to hell where it belongs!

I think that is exactly what she is going to do. What better way to develop a ground game than to be drawing big crowds for Pubbies all over the US. Now for the next year until the Congressional primaries she will play even keel but once the nominations are won - BOOM - she will be off and running with each and every Congressional candidate that will have her, creating alliances and hopefully creating a "skirt tail" effect, if you will. Now that would just put her in the driver's seat for 2012.

for the loss of Palin, the people i blame the most are the rnc and gop. they left her to twist in the wind. they did not come to her aid in the media and they did not help her at all. as far as the rnc and is concerned they may burn in *ell for all i care. I will do all i can to destroy the rnc and help any 3rd party. i know that you will say that a 3rd party will take away votes from the repubs, trying to get change in repub party is like getting Don Corleone to go straight. Why should the repubs change, they are all making a ton of money from being in Washington, yah there going to give up the golden goose just for you and me......
