He’ll be lucky to get 2%.
Cool?
He’s a Kerry loving environmentalist wacko. In hindsight I agree it would have been better if RINO Bush did not win a second term but Smith actually ENDORSED AND VOTED FOR JOHN KERRY.
The good news is no one needs to worry he will “split the vote” with Rubio. He’s become a worthless old crank and has no ties to the state. He will get minimal votes (1% maybe). He polled under 1% when he wanted to run in Florida in 2004 (just 2 years after losing in NH).
File this under ‘amusing news’ not ‘relevant news’.
Bush got him kicked out of the Senate, replaced with a moderate in “Sununu” who helped bring us Souter.
That’s why he endorsed Kerry. Not because of him liking Kerry but because Bush wanted him replaced with a RINO.
Overall Smith is to the right of Sununu but
A)Sununu Jr. is NOT a “rino”. (ACU lifetime rating 91%)
B)Sununu is much better than Smith on enviromental issues (Smith is almost an insane green)
C)Republicans dumped Smith because he was sure to lose to the democrat. The Bushes helped because he was the son of a family friend not because “they wanted a RINO”.
D)It was Sununu’s father (who I don’t like) who “gave us Souter” and it wasn’t on purpose he was fooled into thinking was a conservative by Warren Rudman. This has nothing to do with the son.
E)Sour grapes is not an excuse to vote for Kerry. Smith was not entitled to renomination. Especially after leaving the GOP only to return when a committee chairmanship opened up. It was probably that erratic behavior that lead him to became to damaged to win an election.
You’d think Smith would run in NH after serving as the Granite state’s for 12 years. Bob Smith must have really burned bridges in NH. Smith tried to run for Senate in FL in 2004. He got less than 1% of the vote. I expect him to do worse.
He long removed from having any credibility in Republican politics.
