despite The Apostolic Constitution of The Supreme Pontiff John Paul II on Catholic Universities
despite The Catechism of The Catholic Church teachings in regards to giving scandal (#2284-2287)
despite The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' demand that no Catholic institution should honor anyone who promotes, participates or legislates the killing of unborn children
despite the heroic efforts of the Cardinal Newman Society who gathered and presented over 363,000 signed petitions to withdraw this invitation and platform
despite the refusal of Mary Ann Glendon, who counseled our bishops and was Ambassador the the Vatican, to accept Notre Dame’s Laetare Award
despite 83 American bishops who pleaded and then condemned this abomination
despite the hue and cry of alumni who are withdrawing their support and millions of dollars
despite the pleas from students for rosaries to be said to stop this abomination
and despite the heroic efforts of Randall Terry, Alan Keyes and so many pro-life activists on the street, on the internet, and in and on the air
despite the warnings of the grave scandal to our Faith and the Faithful on May 8th by Archbishop Raymond Burke, Archbishop Emeritus of Saint Louis and Vatican Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura who addressed The National Catholic Breakfast in Washington with these words:
"Our uncompromising commitment to protect the inviolable dignity of innocent human life and to safeguard the integrity of marriage and the family are not based on peculiar confessional beliefs or practices but on the natural moral law, written on every heart and, therefore, a fundamental part of the Church's moral teaching.
At the same time, what is always and everywhere evil cannot be called good for the sake of accomplishing some other good end.
All of us must be concerned about a wide range of goods which are important to the life of our nation, but the concern for those goods can never justify the betrayal of the fundamental goods of life itself and the family.

A President who now wants to deny medical personnel and pharmacists their rights to conscientiously object in participating in his Culture of Death vision.
A President who uses our money as taxpayers to fund abortionists for the intentional continued “depopulation” of our brothers and sisters overseas.
A President who uses our money to fund unnecessary and cannibalistic embryonic research while adult stem cell research is ethical and proving in over 70 instances to help or cure various diseases.
A President who declares that waterboarding terrorists is torture yet supports the most egregious and cruel methods of torture for God's most defenseless children in their mothers’ wombs.
A President who even denies fully born children of botched abortions their rights to comfort and care by other medical personnel after the abortionist does his dastardly deed.
Notre Dame's Administration and Board of Directors distinctly ignored all these good and faithful men and women’s pleas and the above record of this President. Thus I found myself compelled to do what I have always done:
Defend Innocent Life by an act of prayerful, non-violent civil disobedience on the campus of Notre Dame.
Since the Rescue Movement began in the Eighties, I and almost 100,000 other Americans have been arrested, some suffered police brutality, some faced and endured harsh prison terms and fines for directly and always non-violently confronting the evil of child killing at America’s state sanctioned killing centers.
I have gone to federal prison challenging the Clinton Administration’s FACE ACT and unconstitutional Buffer Zones. Legal costs, punitive fines and longer jail sentences eventually drove good men and women back into their homes to protect their families.
But never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would have to ask:
Why would Notre Dame arrest and imprison a Catholic priest for trying to stop the killing of a baby?
I was there because the man giving the orders to kill babies was there.
I carried Christ's Cross and said The Rosary on the campus of Notre Dame dedicated to the Patroness of America and the Unborn in order to save the lives of our most precious babes while they are still dancing in their mothers’ wombs.
I am a Catholic priest. It is my duty to speak out and to stop the killing of God’s children.
For this, The President of Notre Dame had me arrested and put in jail.
Who could ever believe what they saw that day on television sets across the country?
One Catholic priest, the President of a Catholic University demanding police arrest and jail another brother priest while honoring a man who claims “irreconcilable” differences with The Holy Catholic Church!!
In April, Kansas Bishop Robert Finn spoke to pro-life activists from Kansas and Missouri. He said:
“I am grateful for the encouragement of your presence and – as a Bishop it is my solemn and joyful duty to do all I can to fortify you in your own faith. But as I speak a word of encouragement today I also want to tell you soberly, dear friends, “We are at war!”
We are engaged in a constant warfare with Satan, with the glamour of evil, and the lure of false truths and empty promises. If we fail to realize how constantly these forces work against us, we are more likely to fall, and even chance forfeiting God’s gift of eternal life. “

Dear Friends, I want to remind you of what John Paul II warned us about when he came to Denver in 1993:
"America, DEFEND LIFE!!

We 65.1 million Catholics in the United States are obliged to do just that. We must exhaust every effort to stop the killing of our children.
Our beloved Holy Father also said to us, "America, you must come out of your comfortable lifestyles now and you must come out into the streets and into the public places and you must SHOUT the Gospel of Life from the rooftops, he said.
"Do not be afraid," he said. "Jesus Christ is with you!!"
Our Founding Fathers have given us these constitutional rights in anticipation of tyrants whose agenda is to control our country and to allow the sucking of the brains out of our babies’ heads.
IF we 65.1 million Catholics along with our Protestant brothers and sisters in the Pro-Life Movement come out into these streets and public places shouting The Gospel of Life from the rooftops, we will then, begin our counter attack against satan in his efforts to stop the building up of the kingdom of God by destroying us while we are still helpless in our mothers’ wombs.
He has already destroyed over to 50 million of us by surgical abortion alone!! But satan trembles because the Blessed Lady of the original translations of Genesis 3:15 is now leading the counter attack against the arrogant strong man on this earth and as Our Holy Father has told us: "The outcome has already been determined."
We have read the last chapter and it says: "WE WIN!!!"
May God bring you and all the members of your family into Heaven at the appointed time and until that time, you must come into the streets and outside our killing centers.
