A lot of people didn't get John Kerry's "joke" about how if you work hard in school, go to college, you'll be successful, otherwise you might get stuck in Iraq.

I just don't appreciate jokes about the military unless they're coming from someone who's served (I haven't).

I don't think Kerry was telling a joke. He became the joke. If I'm wrong about that, please clarify.
