Children's Author Judy Blume Seeks Donations to Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Famous children's author Judy Blume is no stranger to controversy, but she's added to herself to a list of people who will be remember for something more devastating. Blume has lent her name the solicitation of donations for Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion business.

In a new missive ironically celebrating mothers day, Blume suggests sending a donation to the pro-abortion group to honor mothers.

"Say thanks this Mother's Day with a gift that honors her courage by making a donation to Planned Parenthood in her name. I guarantee you that she'll be pleased. I know I would be,' Blume writes.

"There is no organization that I know of that supports motherhood and all that it means more than Planned Parenthood. That's why I'm honoring moms everywhere with my gift to Planned Parenthood today," Blume adds.

Blume notes how more woman are seeking abortions form Planned Parenthood because of the difficult economy and she urges readers of the email to use that as a reason to support the abortion business.

"And right now — with more and more women seeking care from Planned Parenthood health centers — we need to do all we can to support them. By honoring a mother in your life, you'll be making a gift to millions of mothers and families who seek care from Planned Parenthood. That's a gift any mother will appreciate," she concludes.

Planned Parenthood offers to send a card to any donor's mother saying that a person sent a donation to the pro-abortion group in her name.

In a pub note that goes along with the fundraising letter, Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards thanks Blume for her support.

"There are very few writers who have helped more young people grow up and grapple with their changing bodies and emotions than Judy Blume," she writes.

"I count myself among her biggest and most grateful fans — and am so lucky to call her my friend. I'm honored to relay her message about motherhood to you today," Richards adds.

Linking Mothers Day and raising money to kill babies in the womb??? This is grotesque, twisted.

Because one would do the job but a dozen or more would be overkill. Literally.

To pro-aborts, there is no baby. No baby, not a Mom. The irony of this statement goes beyond the pale.

As a retired reading teacher, I also must respectfully disagree. The books for the younger kids are fine. I think she starts getting controversial with books for middle school ages and up.

Wow, I have read Judy Blume for YEARS! Like one of the first “authors” I could actually name and learned to search for in the Dewey Decimel System.

Surprising I’m pro-life, LOL!

If I had boys, I’d probably just buy them the old Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators books. Those were great.

LOL! I have never read a Judy Blume -- when I was little, I was offered plenty of Hitchcock magazines, but never a Blume. The Hitchcock and the Ellery Queens, they were real good reading!

Most any hospital with a delivery room certainly does a better job of not only supporting motherhood, but also supporting the infant that makes motherhood possible.

I read her books to my boys for years when they were younger. My son, as an adult, had the opportunity to meet her and get some autographed books at a book signing. He said she was rather rude and mean looking. LOL - said if he hadn’t had such good memories of her books he would not have bought them.

I loved those books growing up, the "Great Brain" books by J.D Fitzgerald were also wonderful.

I think her books were more of a coming-of-age type that were aimed at pre-teens than being overtly liberal. There’s that one book about the kid who family strikes it rich and he moves to a NJ suburb and gets off watching his neighbor. Then there’s the white family dealing with a black family that moved in next door. Blume is a great author, I really enjoyed her books growing up.

I didn't know about those, but did you know they've scrubbed the Alfred Hitchcock books? They've removed Hitchcock entirely and rewritten them to remove supposed racial insensitivities. I've considered going on eBay to buy a lot of them, but they are usually being bid on fiercely.

I probably have several dozen of them in a box in my parent’s attic.

The “Great Brain” books are about a Catholic family in Utah in the 1890s.

Thanks for not killing me mom, I made a donation to the people who wanted you to.

I guess if you wish you’d never been born and want to stuff that feeling in your mother’s face, it’s the perfect gift!

I really can’t see any other message than, “I wish I’d never been born, I’m a mistake, and here’s redemption in your name by saving some other kid from the fate that has befallen me.”
