Are gun owners facing a ‘perfect storm’?
Minneapolis Gun Rights Examiner ^ | April 20, 2009 | John Pierce

Posted on 04/30/2009 12:29:07 PM PDT by JohnPierce

If the democrats achieve a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, then the system of checks and balances that allows our two-party system to protect the interests of all citizens begins to break down. The party in the majority need not listen to any voice other than their own .. and these are the voices that now speak alone in the halls of power.

My next article will be on CIFTA. It is frightening from a legal perspective to see how much damage can be done by a bad treaty ratification!

We’re past the point of this article. There have been at least 4 turncoats in the Senate all this time

What such articles & debates consistently overlook is that practical exercise of RKBA relies almost solely on the right of a few to sell to the many. We’ve had a hint of the issue via ammo availability scares, but most pro-RKBA types screaming “FMCDH!” and “Molon Labe!” fail to fully note that once manufacture & sale of key components are regulated into oblivion, it’s over.

There are three components, maybe four, which are nigh unto impossible for most people to make on their own (or via small business) to a quality matching current international norms:
- barrels
- shells
- primers
- powder (maybe).

Very few companies can make these items from raw materials, at least to a degree comparable to a standard AR or AK. Primitive versions may be made, but hardly compete when the JBTs arrive (or [insert alternate nightmare scenario here]). Stop those, and the pipeline shuts down. No barrels/shells/primers? manufacturers shut down, retail inventory goes to zero, and private sales evaporate in favor of hoarding. Sure, there’s a whole lotta product out there, and it’s durable & long-lasting, but once the stuff goes into closets with no intention of coming out, the industry disappears and RKBA goes AWOL. The subculture goes into the closet with the hoarded casefulls, the next generation doesn’t see any positive form of RKBA, and “Coffin Rock” comes to pass (look it up).

The unstoppable legislature has arrived. Expect ban bills gallore. Oh sure you’ll get to keep what you want, but everything existing goes NFA and 922(o) expands to cover anything new (not just MGs).
The unstoppable president has arrived. He’ll sign whatever he gets, and he has already demonized our kind.
The judiciary hasn’t quite reached “unstoppable” but is pretty darned close; I’m sure suitable persuasion/agreements will be reached.

Perfect storm? if only. Asteroid, anyone?

(Ok, that all came out a bit farther out there than I expected. I’m not sure tempering it will help anything though.)

The Nation is in a state of undeclared War by an internal enemy (in the White House).

Unfortunately most of the population does not understand this, Yet.

“Perfect Storm” might not be the right term.

I’m thinking more like “Marianas Turkey Shoot.”

CNN poll question mentions:

The President's Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, recently stated that the 1 million people the government put on the "no fly" list should be prohibited from purchasing a gun, even if they are not guilty of a felony or crime and they may not even be the correct person who is targeted by the list.

Haven't found an exact quote, but sounds like it may have been a back-room discussion. The concern now is that such a rule/law may be implemented - and then owners will, without notification or adjudication, find themselves on that list.

I will pick the “perfect storm” and “jumping the shark” as the two most annoying phrases. I do believe, however, that a perfect storm is going to be what the imbeciles in Washington will to face at some point in time. We do, however, have to be vigilant of what will come after the storm.

Cool, I could put one of those on the rear bumper, and make a front plate (w/out the border) out of this:

That ought to get the message across.

So what are all of the gun owners posting comments going to wait for...Hussein’s brownshirts walking up your driveway? We know the left will eventually overturn the 2nd amendment, either directly or indirectly (and given the cowardice and underhandedness of these people, indirectly is far more likely). Gun owning patriots—that is, actual Americans who know that the right to keep and bear arms is our most precious, as the rest cannot be guaranteed without it—will have to literally march on Washington DC, remove 535 members of congress along with our acting president, his buffoon VP and the 9 members of the Supreme Court. How will this be organized, especially after the fact? For should we fail in this, the nation and our liberty will be finished.

If the RATS in the south, midwest & west go against the 2nd amendment, one would think they’d be toast in the next election.
