SEEKONK, Mass. -- Shane Murphy, the second-in-command aboard the American merchant ship seized by pirates, lashed out at Rush Limbaugh for the talk show host's racial characterization in discussing the rescue of the ship's captain by the Navy.

In commenting on the rescue of Capt. Richard Phillips by the Navy Seals who shot and killed the three Somali pirates who were holding him captive, Limbaugh generated controversy when he called the pirates "black teenagers."

"There you have it, three teenagers shot on the high seas at the order of President Obama," said Limbaugh according to a transcript of an April 14 broadcast on his Web site.

"Just imagine the hue and cry had a Republican president ordered the shooting of black teenagers on the high seas," Limbaugh said.

Murphy said Limbaugh's remarks were unacceptable.

"It feels great to be home," Murphy said. "With the exception of Rush Limbaugh who is trying to make this into a race issue. It's disgusting."

"The president did the right thing. It's a war. It's about good versus evil. And what you (Limbaugh) said is evil, that is hate speech. I won't tolerate it," Murphy said.

The truth is spoken by Rush. The pirates were teenagers, like many are.

And Rush wasn’t making it into a race issue. He was illustrating the double standard of the MSM. If those pirates were shot in Watts , armed and shooting while looting stores, the MSM would have opened a can of whoop ass. Rush knows this,
and is pointing it out.

Good job Rush. The MSM is nothing but part of the Zero propaganda machine. Shane Murphy is a pie hole that is in over its head. He should shut it and be grateful he is alive in a country with men like Rush who can still tell the truth, and THAT is NOT hate speech.

WHERE did he just see that? He surely did not see it in the video or transcript at RushLimbaugh.com.

All but the biggest Limbaugh fan wouldn't bother to check Rush's opinion on this and Limbaugh wasn't exactly creating a firestorm out of his comments. Perhaps it was a big deal on the Lefty blogs or Media Matters. I don't know what Murphy's endgame is, but he's in pretty deep waters here.

Bingo! I think you're right. I thought it sounded as if this guy, Murphy, misunderstood what Limbaugh was saying. The MSM sets people up, and that's what it sounds like happened here.
