POLL: 75% OF TEXANS WOULD VOTE TO STAY IN USA(Total BS poll)

Thirty-one percent (31%) of Texas voters say that their state has the right to secede from the United States and form an independent country.

However, the latest Rasmussen Reports poll in the state finds that if the matter was put to a vote, it wouldn’t even be close. Three-fourths (75%) of Lone Star State voters would opt to remain in the United States. Only 18% would vote to secede, and seven percent (7%) are not sure what they'd choose.

Texas Governor Rick Perry, in response to a reporter’s question about secession at a protest "tea party," said Wednesday, "We've got a great union. There's absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that? But Texas is a very unique place, and we're a pretty independent lot to boot." The comment was widely reported in the media.

I could travel the enstire state and not find 25 people who believe this drivel, much less 3 out of every 4 Texans as Rasmussen claims.

Maybe most conservatives aren’t quite ready to give up this soon.

Nobody ask me or anyone I know. BTW: I’m a Texan.

pretty sure they would get a bigger influx of people into the state too, even if this exodus was true.

I consider it pretty big at this point that 25% do not want to stay in the United States.

Obviously this poll was taken in Austin.

Even if that's true, the fact that even twenty-five percent would consider secession is an eye-opener. A generation ago, I doubt secession would have gotten 10 percent. These things take time to reach critical mass.

I think it is incredibly significant at this point to even have 25% in what was prolly a tainted poll.

With the continuing unconstitutional actions in the District of Corruption, that number will continue to climb.

The question Rasmussen ought to be asking is how many Texan wannabees there would be throughout the nation if Texas were to secede.

I am inclined to believe this.

Texans do not want to secede now. The support is building for it and just like the independence movement in Quebec and statehood push in Puerto Rico, it will continue to gain momentum as the federal gov’t keep usurping state’s rights.

I'm not following what you mean. You are saying that more than 3 out of 4 Texans want to secede from the U.S.

Anyone see that gentleman by the name of Jerry Rivers, come UNGLUED last night on Hannity, on this very subject? It was a smash mouth situation, and in the right crowd, Jerry might have taken another chair in the chops. What a screaming clueless leftist.

My guess is that 25% wanting out is up significantly since 1-20-09. I was not ready in January but I find myself thinking about secession more each day. What will the percentage be in 6 months or a year?

If they had continued the poll, they probably would have found that:

65% want to stay in the US, but move the Capitol to Texas and incorporate the rest of the American Southwest (down past Mexico City) into the US.

Translation: no way that 75% of Texans believe we should stay in US.

Oh yeah, the other 10% are from Austin or South Houston.

If we do secede, Obama could make up for the loss by

offering Kenya,(his place of birth -by the way) statehood.

I'll bet the libs will dig that idea.

Sheesh, I phrased my post rather poorly and confused myself. What I’m really wondering is if you think that more Texans ( >25%)would want to secede or fewer ( <25%) would want to secede?
