Worried the federal government is increasing its dominance over their affairs, several states are pursuing legislative action to assert their sovereignty under the 10th Amendment of the Constitution in hopes of warding off demands from Washington on how to spend money or enact policy. The growing concerns even have a handful of governors questioning whether to accept federal stimulus money that comes with strings attached.

Might not be a bad idea to pass along some kudo's to the people at the Washington Times either.
...”We are telling the federal government that we are a sovereign state
and want to be treated as such. We are not a branch of the federal government,”
said Arizona state Rep. Judy Burges, who is leading an effort in her state
to pass a resolution called “Sovereignty: the 10th Amendment.”

Dang straight.
The funniest part is that much of this was started by liberals during the Bush presidency. That doesn’t mean it isn’t a good thing, only that what they used as an insult can be turned against them for a noble cause.
I continue to add names to the ping list as I run across others I find participating on similar threads. If you want off the list just say so.
States rights? Granted by the constitution?
Bite your tongue. Not in this administration. Forget it.

Rock and roll!
We are telling the federal government that we are a sovereign state and WILL to be treated as such, OR ELSE! We are not a branch of the federal government YOU STINKING PIT OF VIPERS!
"Ironic" might be a more apt description, no? Anywho, that's as it should be. Let the libtards have the shaft, we'll take the gold mines -- and the oil -- the agriculture.....
What 10th Amendment? That, and its sister, the 9th, have been dead for at least 30 years.
The Constitution does not grant the States any rights. They had them before the Constituion and the federal government existed.
Yes. I stand corrected. Thanks
30 years? They’ve been dead for well over 100.
Certainly gaining steam. Pity that SCOTUS has eviscerated the 10th Amendment over the years. It pretty much doesn’t recognize it.
Well, I doubt that NY is on that list.... :(
We HAVE to find a new place to live when the time comes.

Yeah, but how do you REALLY feel?
***Oklahoma state Sen. Randy Brogdon introduced a resolution that he said would enable his state to “reclaim its 10th Amendment right to reject any and all acts of Congress that go beyond its enumerated powers in violation of the 10th Amendment.”***
The 10th Amendment, and the Constitution as a whole, doesn’t grant rights; it recognizes them and denies the federal government the power to violate said rights.
I’ve heard that in Law School the 10th Amendment isn’t an acceptable defense or justification. Instead they have to look at what judges have said about the Constitution even if the rulings and precedents directly violate the Constitution.
I do seem to remember something about the Constitution being supreme... but hey what do I know?
CHANGE from the ground (States and the individual people) up.
