Just for accuracy, we should note that this is NOT the IRS -- it's state and local taxes, apparently not from Income taxes. I've checked blogs across the spectrum, and everyone talks as if it is the IRS. Go figure.
Doesn't necessarily make it better or worse (the 7K, truthfully, is not so bad for some type of business tax screw-up. The 16 years of just letting liens sit without paying up is much worse, IMHO).
