And another thing. California is a community property state. Therefore that business is owned equally by each spouse, IIRC.

Has Obama released his tax returns? After all the “Chicago Way” started with Al Capone, the world’s most famous tax cheat.

Tell the IRS guys that you posted on the Internet that "7k in taxes is not a big deal", so it must be true. Actually, I just got done with and IRS compliance (that is a mother of an audit) audit of 2005. I made a mistake and they dinged me for an additional 5k (I already paid 80K) which I paid. And then later they found they were incorrect and sent 300 dollars back.
Sorry, but for most people in the upper class or upper middle class, 7k is no big deal and 7k is not even a huge deal or a little deal for even the middle class.

It’s not strange if you realize that the whole Demonrat game plan is based on forcible income transfers, otherwise known as theft. The intent all along was that productive, hard-working Americans would be robbed to pay off the Demons’ welfare clientele, plus the “dictators of the proletariat” themselves (Demonrat politicians and the rest of the new elite).

Sorry, but for most people in the upper class or upper middle class, 7k is no big deal and 7k is not even a huge deal or a little deal for even the middle class. So dishonesty, to you, is no big deal if the numbers are relatively small.
I didn't realize honesty was based on numbers. Quite an ethical system ya got there.

I’m sorry to say that the tax code is so complicated, if you get within 2% of the tax most experts say you owe, that is a major victory.
Furthermore if you get 10 tax experts to agree on what you owe to within 1 percent, I would be surprised.

Sorry, but for most people in the upper class or upper middle class, 7k is no big deal and 7k is not even a huge deal or a little deal for even the middle class. Sounds a bit like "don't worry it's only a sex lie, no big deal." Do we really want to go down that road again?
Besides, there are many people in this country that have had their wages garnished, their assets seized and their lives made a living hell for smaller amounts. Why are we willing to give high profile politicians a break? They should know better and should be able to hire people to get it right, especially after they have been informed by the tax authorities that they owe taxes or have been reimbursed by their employer for taxes they should have paid.
Yeah the tax code is complicated but the people that write it and impose it on everyone else should understand it and abide by it...no?
