Maybe were YOU are, but not necessarily where others are going, including airline hubs. For example, bad weather in Chicago can delay flights EVERYWHERE because crews can’t get to their next aircraft, aircraft can’t get to hubs for further flights, etc.
Shutting down a plane “immediately” sounds like an operational problem.
