Ok, I will go further, Nixon's expansion of Medicare which helped explode the cost of health care over the years, Nixon's creation of the EPA, OSHA ect.., LBJ's Great Society programs still in existence today, ditto with the New Deal and that pesky 16th Amendment under Wilson's watch (But sponsored by Republicans as well). The beast is growing to uncontrollable levels and is creeping up so much that it could effect the market permanently if all the demands government needs to operate chokes growth to death.

All that “good deed” stuff of the beast is catching up to us in a rapid pace (When viewing past civilizations on how they rise and fall), will be interesting times indeed for the next several years.

I'm not sure those are apples to apples examples. Whether government should be expanded to provide for these services depends on the voter. I think we can agree on some of the goals even if we don't agree with expanding government to cover them.

On the other hand, OBL could have and should have been captured on Clinton's watch. We'll be paying for a long time, at least monetarily, because of this failure.
