For the sake of the Nation, I wish Obama well.

I wish the nation well. As far as Obama goes, I wish him "success" as I define it, not in terms of his campaign rhetoric. For example, I hope he succeeds by not instituting measures which stall the natural recovery of the economy. I hope he succeeds by not miring America in more nation-building experiments (while at least maintaining present levels of defense infrastructure and research). I hope he succeeds in tackling the runaway train of entitlement spending. "We" would not gain by Obama's failure on these points.

Before wishing someone success, it is best to confirm which of their endeavors you are blessing (axe murdering? obtaining heroin?)

“I hope he succeeds in tackling the runaway train of entitlement spending. “We” would not gain by Obama’s failure on these points.”

But Obama’s plan is to raise taxes and socialize medicine. It wont tackle spending but expand it permanently. We will not gain by Obama’s success there. In fact, America would be better off if the Congress just quit right now for 2 years rather than spend 2 years of adding to liberal spending.

I hope America succeeds and endures despite the Obama errors.
