What are the best conservative movies of the past 25 years ?

Believe it or not, I think Michael Tolkin's movie The Rapture starring Mimi Rogers can be an excellent conservative and Christian movie so long as it's looked as a tragedy with a fatally flawed protagonist that makes bad choices and some of the theological flubs are ignored. Similarly, Spike Lee's Bamboozled can be an excellent conservative movie if you hold the protagonists responsible for their own plight rather than passive victims of it.

The problem with this movie is it pushes crassness, toilet humor and other things conservatives dislike to the disgusting limit in order to ridicule the Hollywood crowd.

Actually, those are things that Country Club and Evangelist Republicans dislike. Myself being a fiscal/military CONSERVATIVE that's to the right of Ghengis Khan on those issues but a social Libertarian found them hilarious.

Life Is Beautiful

This is by far my favorite movie.

Life Is Beautiful was a great movie. I think the director of that movie also made another conservative movie but the name escapes me.

And was Outlaw Josey Wales a Conservative movie? I hope so. I have seen in over twenty times.

The Great Raid (2005)

The story in this movie is great but the film itself is dreck. I wouldn't it recommend to anyone.

I would add "Tears of the Sun" (2003). Not an ideological movie but one that shows people struggling to do the right thing in the face of evil.

Pursuit of Happyness A man tries to better himself against nearly overwhelming odds to provide for his son.

Maybe it is just me but I thought the protagonist was wrong to subject his son to living in a train station. I think he would have been more admirable to suffer through an unpleasant job that kept a roof over their heads than pursuing his dream job. That part of the movie really bothered me.

Frequency- A young firefighter dies leaving his son with out a father, years later the son is able to contqact his father through time using a Ham radio.
Kind of hokey but it really shows the importance of fathers being there for their sons.

I say it does. A rich billionaire living the American Dream decides to take a stand. Also shows a bit of money and good old fashioned American ingenuity can make killer armored combat suits.

That, I think, is one of the primary platforms of Conservativism. Standing for something.

And, um, I gotta point out the Transformers Movie. I cut my anti-tyranny teeth on First Generation.
