I don’t know, but apparently I have known some pretty trashy people according to this thread. Of course none of them were on the way to living in the White House...

nothing in and of iteself..however, this man is going to be President, whether we like it or not, and it’s just not freakin dignified..
Ronald Reagan had such an appreciation and respect for the Office of President, he refused to take off his suit jacket when in the Oval Office..
Compare that with this hip hop guy from Chicago who hasn’t a clue..

What exactly is wrong with wearing a hat backwards?Normally, nothing. Keeping the sun off your neck rather than out of your eyes is one. The problem arises when it becomes a gang/hoodlum symbol and people in power, let alone the president-elect, adopt it. As mentioned elsewhere, what's next - hung-low trousers? Casual is cool - "hood chic" is not.

If you are older than 10 years old and not a catcher, wearing a baseball cap backwards makes you look old, stupid, and foolish. If it's a designer cap, it makes you look not only foolish, but fiduciary irresponsible.
The only legitimate reason to wear a baseball cap backwards in style might be to emulate a black gangsta because one covets their lifestyle, popularity, and association with being street-tough. Of course those who wore them in an eccentric fashion, tended to wear them to the right or to the left, to either communicate directions to others or to indicate gang affiliation.
On the other hand, from the Urban Dictionary: "Wearing your baseball hat backwards means your ready to perform oral sex immediately (don't have to waste time to turn the bill out of the way). "
I'm just waiting for 0bama to begin hanging a red or blue bandana out his hip pocket. Let the gang wars begin.

I dont think there is anything wrong with it, per se. It depends on the circumstances, and the person. I would not want a President to do it. Then again, I would not want a President to dress like me. Not only will he be Head of Govt, he will be Head of State, which carries with it representing the US in matters of tradition and culture etc.
