Last week I read where they consider this Robert Kennedy’s seat and feel it is a right of the Kennedy family to take it back. No lack of hubris in the Kennedy clan.
And a Senator is not supposed to be “loyal” to some other elected official (and in this case, some thug or hack). They’re supposed to be loyal to the Constitution and then the people (in that order).
"If I were the governor, I would look and question whether this is the appointment I'd want to make, where her first obligation might be to the mayor of the City of New York, rather than to the governor who would be appointing her," Silver said.I guess no one mentioned to Silver that a senator's first obligation is to the United States of America; the second obligation is to the citizens of the state repped by the senator.
