BAGHDAD (AFP) – Muntazer al-Zaidi, the Iraqi man who threw his shoes at US President George W. Bush, is to sue security guards who he alleges beat him up after the incident, his lawyer said on Sunday.

"Muntazer has filed a complaint today (Sunday) against those who assaulted him," lawyer Dhiya al-Saadi told AFP, saying those responsible worked for the security forces of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's media office.

"There are bruises on his body. He has lost a tooth in his upper jaw, and his left eye is bloodshot," the lawyer said, adding that the list of injuries is backed up by medical checks.

This guy is a typical Muslim jerk. First he basked in the adulation of Muslims everywyere. Then, just a day or two ago he was saying, “Let me go, I apologize.” Now he’s saying he’ll sue. Lock him up and throw away the key. He’s lucky he didn’t try it when Saddam was in charge.

His intention was to beat up the President of the United States and he got beat up as a result...Hopefully they won’t ship over one of our Democratic judges to try the case...

The Secret Service should have taken him out when he raised his arm to throw the first shoe! What the heck were they doing? I know this was in a supposedly secure environment where they had previously checked for weapons, but come on the guy was able to make two attempts to assault the POTUS!!

He threw his shoes at the POTUS's head, possibly causing a loss of a tooth or a bruised eye. That he failed and HE wound up injured is all his doing.

I say knock out more teeth of his teeth and blacken his other eye.

How about we counter sue for the added cost of security he and others like him impose on us when our President traveled to Iraq.

After all, if he would not act like he did, we would not have to pay to guard against him.

Obammy will be on it. With "no conditions" of course.

Yep. A bloodshot eye and missing tooth, if true, would be the least of his worries had he thrown a shoe at Saddam.

Hey while you're at it how about the Secret Service having to guard Shoe Barns, Payless and Parade of Shoes everytime GW drives by........those costs must be hugh and series

Then of course there's the PTSD (Post Tramatic Shoe Disorder)treatment for GW and the agents that witnessed the attack.

The irony in all of this is rich.

The guy throws his shoes in an act of disrespect at the President of the United States..

He is able to do this act (without instant death) by the man, country and military he has chosen to disrespect.

There are protests in the streets on his behalf, with no repercussions from the government.

After pleading for a pardon, he decides to sue for damages.

I would have to say our mission in Iraq is a success. I’m being serious. At what time in the history of Iraq could such events happen with no repercussions? Hopefully, the courts will sentence him to some time.

That being said, I as a private citizen of the US, would like to give him a piece of my mind or at least throw MY shoes at him. (And the Secret Service as well.)

We ought to bring this clown to the USA. He would fit in with most liberals. He does his dirty deed, then he asks for a pardon, then he wants to sue!

I say let him sue, let him win, pay him damages, have the security guards apologize to him, and then put him in jail for 15 years. Fair, fair, and fair.
