Clothing Also Found In Bag With Child's Remains

ORLANDO, Fla. - The state confirmed Wednesday that clothing was also found in the trash bag full of a child's remains discovered near the Anthony home.

The remains were found last Thursday just blocks away from the home of Caylee Anthony, who was first reported missing five months ago.

Her mother, Casey Anthony, has been jailed on a first-degree murder charge.

The clothing discovery is the strongest sign yet that the state believes the remains belong to Caylee, reported WESH 2's Bob Kealing.

Authorities said they're uncovering new evidence almost every day.

Sources said they believe the victim was dumped soon after the slaying.

Prosecutors visited the crime scene along Suburban Drive on Wednesday. They learned that crime scene investigators and FBI forensics experts wouldn't be done processing the area until at least Thursday.

Teams carrying machetes continued cutting into the wooded area, and they expanded the search area from a half acre to an acre.

Investigators said the crime scene continues to give up more and more clues. Crime scene investigator technicians hope to piece together not only who the child was, but how the child died, and perhaps when the remains were dumped there in a plastic bag.

Two prosecutors met with investigators on Wednesday morning for a progress report on the search effort.

A short news conference was held to announce the search would stretch into an eighth day.

"We expected that it might have been late this afternoon that this scene might have been able to be cleared, but as we continue to discover items at the scene, we'll continue to hold the scene irregardless of identification. The medical examiner will make that determination as to when it is proper to make a proper announcement regarding identification," Orange County Sheriff's Office Capt. Angelo Nieves said.

i think that casey wanted to be free of caylee and decided to get rid of her.

Testimony by friends and acquaintances would seem to indicate that was true...........

Exactly. The same thing in our brain that would make us react horrifically to that photo is the same thing that would prevent us from doing it in the first place.

If you have it inside you to hurt anyone, much less a toddler, you have a piece of your soul missing.

The sixth line down from the top of the article.
The word ‘slaying’ jumps off the page. That sounds pretty convicting and the crime is a bit more ominous that just chloroforming the child.

If she drowned in the pool because of Casey’s neglect, why the duct tape?

Up until they said duct tape, I had thought the heartless mother just was negligent and did an OJ and put it out of her mind while partying the night away. But when duct tape was mentioned, that is a malicious act. That is stopping someone from yelling or breathing. That makes me think this little girl suffered before she died.

Well if this is true, my own theory is the poor baby was already dead before Casey tried to fake Caylees drowning.

The death penalty will be too humane for this monster.

Did the reporter choose the word or did the source supply it?...............

Not if she taped her mouth and threw her in the pool

Even if she gets “life”, the other women in the prison will not take kindly to her, especially those that have and are separated from their own children...........

I’m guessing the child drowned in the backyard pool due to negligance of the mother and Casey panicked, leading to the ensuing scenario.

Not to be picky but I think George is just out of work, not retired. He only worked as a police officer for about 11 years and I think of retired as someone who has earned the respect of others for faithfully serving for many years. I don't think George falls into that catagory.

Still - you are correct - George was home most of the time so I also find it hard to believe Casey would have had the opportunity to drown Caylee at their home.

There might have been an accomplice to help in the disposal. Not impossible.

You are right, but imagine the national outcry if Caylee had treated a house cat like this!

Yeah, we always have that hope! That is how I feel about male child molesters too - always hope they are in with some Dad who went after a molester and ended up in jail (wrongly I might add) - so he has a very strong feeling about child molesters.... Women can be vicious too and I don’t think Casey can charm women as easily as she has done with men.

that is a good possibility also. but if that is the case, what keeps
casey from breaking down and admitting it? i guess ahe thinks
she’ll beat the rap.

As was my late brother. He could literally charm the pants off women, but men always saw him as he was................

But I have a feeling that jail time won’t be. She’s in a heap of trouble when she gets into that jailhouse with all those other women. Have a feeling that they will take justice into their own hands for little Caylee.

Seems to be common. Women see women for what they are when men can’t, as can a man to a man, usually, but not always......

If so, what is the explanation of the duct taped skull? Duct tape that has strands of hair and some flesh still attached, covering the mouth and other areas of the skull is being reported.
