ORLANDO, Fla. - The state confirmed Wednesday that clothing was also found in the trash bag full of a child's remains discovered near the Anthony home.
The remains were found last Thursday just blocks away from the home of Caylee Anthony, who was first reported missing five months ago.
Her mother, Casey Anthony, has been jailed on a first-degree murder charge.
The clothing discovery is the strongest sign yet that the state believes the remains belong to Caylee, reported WESH 2's Bob Kealing.
Authorities said they're uncovering new evidence almost every day.
Sources said they believe the victim was dumped soon after the slaying.
Prosecutors visited the crime scene along Suburban Drive on Wednesday. They learned that crime scene investigators and FBI forensics experts wouldn't be done processing the area until at least Thursday.
Teams carrying machetes continued cutting into the wooded area, and they expanded the search area from a half acre to an acre.
Investigators said the crime scene continues to give up more and more clues. Crime scene investigator technicians hope to piece together not only who the child was, but how the child died, and perhaps when the remains were dumped there in a plastic bag.
Two prosecutors met with investigators on Wednesday morning for a progress report on the search effort.
A short news conference was held to announce the search would stretch into an eighth day.
"We expected that it might have been late this afternoon that this scene might have been able to be cleared, but as we continue to discover items at the scene, we'll continue to hold the scene irregardless of identification. The medical examiner will make that determination as to when it is proper to make a proper announcement regarding identification," Orange County Sheriff's Office Capt. Angelo Nieves said.

It might be considered cruel and inhuman, but I think they should take some pictures of the skull of that poor child, and then when the MINO (Mother In Name Only) least expects it while sitting in her jail cell, slap the photos down in front of her and say “NOW damn you, TALK! EVERYTHING you know, now SPILL it!”
Oh come on. They know if it is her or not by now.
This is simply a hypothetical on my part, but i think that
Casey killed Caylee after a vicious fight with Cindy. I think
Cindy blames herself and that is why she continues to support
her daughter.
This statement doesn't make any sense. It's hard to imagine that they don't have DNA evidence, which would be overwheming proof that it was Cayley.

That has come up in discussions here as well. But if rumors are true, that there was duct tape found on the mouth of the child’s skull, then that is gross evidence of premeditation, since there is no need for tape on the mouth of a dead person...........
More evidence that the average baddie is stupid.
They probably do have the DNA results, but are not releasing them as yet...........

This is damn heartbreaking. I can only imagine what that child must’ve thought and felt as her mother was killing her. There is some evil sh*t out there.
Of course I am just speculating but perhaps they meant the clothing matched a picture of Caylee in the Anthony’s house so they meant this was the strongest evidence that the remains belong to Caylee without further testing?
Apparently a child’s swim suit was in the bag. One of the theories was that Caylee drowned in the family pool and Casey panicked and then dumped her body. This wouldn’t excuse her for what she did, of course. But it would eliminate the vision of poor little Cayley being murdered by her mother.

oh, i do think there was premeditation. i just figure cindy had been
haranguing casey about being a better mom and that she, cindy,
was tired of being caylee’s primary mom. i think that casey
wanted to be free of caylee and decided to get rid of her.
Yes, I have heard that one. But The last day Caylee was seen alive by anyone other than Casey, she was being carted off by Casey after a big front yard yelling fight between her and Cindy. Since George is retired, when would Casey have brought her back to the house and pool, let her drown and George not know about it?........
