LOL!
You are hell-bent to make any dispute with McCain an issue of McCain’s personality, when the ISSUE is about McCain’s RINO positions, McCain’s RINO record, and McCain’s RINO policy initiatives.
Or Hunter / Thompson or Hunter / Palin.
Thompson-Palin would’ve been a ticket I really could’ve gotten excited about! As it was, I held my nose and voted for Sarah.
Joe isn’t being cruel - just honest.
Still havent faces the fact that mcCain is full of suckage eh?
Oh, to dream.
Seriously, I don't hate McCain. I'm sure he's a decent type guy. But he's no Gipper. Not even a shadow. All his talk about “fight with me” and he just rolled over. The thought occurred to me that he was just a shill.
“I think its a cheap shot.”
One could argue that - but Joe is expressing his real opinion and not denigrating anyone else.
Maybe if he was describing a personal conversation in which McCain was expressing a private or off the record comment that contradicted his stated position. But Mcain’s public and political position on the issue was consistent with with what Joe says he is “appalled” with.
I like Joe. I like the fact that he challenged McCain on the issue. He and Sarah are probably the only two “regular Americans” to get McCain’s ear since he entered politics.
Sadly - It was not in his best interest to cross McCain (in McCain’s view). McCain is vindictive. He’ll dust off one of the Strait Talk Express busses just to throw Joe under it.
I disagree that we should behave like Democrat thugs. I am advocating that we ALWAYS speak the cold hard unvarnished truth, whether or not it “hurts” some coward’s feelings or chances to hold public office. I would rather have one man of truth than all the gold in Fort Knox. The older I get, the more important that quality becomes to me.
Obviously, primaries have to be closed to those registered in another party (and presumably to independents as well).
Second, I had heard a plan whereby the states would vote in an order determined by how they voted in the last general election. The higher the percentage of Republican vote, the earlier you get to go in the next cycle of primaries.
This might affect the overall election process in two ways. First it might stimulate turnout in the general by those who feel they don’t get a sufficient say in picking the nominee, and second, because it would put conservative states early in the campaign so more moderate/Marxist states wouldn’t get the chance to purge the conservatives and narrow the field to uninspiring accomodaters.
My sentiments exactly. Well said.
Senator McCain and Joe the plumber are not children and politics is not home work.
Your analogy is flawed.
Actually, the Joe-the-Plumber ultimately had a negative impact on the McCain campaign, because Obama successfully turned it into an us vs. them "under $250,000 income" debate.
The fact remains that the vast majority of voters make under $250,000 a year .... and even though they theoretically understand Joe's argument, most don't care if they pay more tax IF THEY EVER reached the $250,000 plateau.
This demonstrated McCain's total ineptitude, and the Obama team's brilliance ....
Joe-the-Plumber valiantly went around the country saying "Hey, you're gonna get screwed if you're lucky or skilled enough to earn $250,000."
It didn't necessarily resonate.
The GOP desperately tried to say that Obama had lowered the figure to $200,000, or $150,000, or $125,000 ... but the issue was already set in cement.... with Obama seeming to be the winner by promising tax cuts to "95%" of Americans.
Of course Obama's promise is totally bogus.... but as an issue, Joe the Plumber just fueled the perception that Republicans only care about people making $250,000 or more.
The McCain team was so inept and stupid.... I could spit.
The only Amercan “citizens” who bought Obama’s snake oil were those filled with class envy, those lacking any real understanding economics (or mathematics), and those having no use for rational thought... to wit: most of them that “graduate” from the public school system.
I have personally met and spoken to John McCain privately...
Never were there such a filthy corrupt politician as John McCain - he treats you as a inferior and his arrogant attitude is evident in how he brushes off your concerns as one of his constituents. I know it sounds crazy but we are better off knowing our enemy than to have a filthy lieing backstabber like McCain.
The McCain team was so inept and stupid.... I could spit.
You and me both, brother.
The Huffington Post carried this same story. The last time I looked it had already had 50 pages of responses, almost all of them vile comments about either Joe or Gov. Palin or both. It just goes to show how sick those people are on the dark side.
What have you against the guy? I’ve known a lot of authentic Joe the Plumbers, simple guys with a wealth of common sense.
