Joe Wurzelbacher says he felt "dirty" after "seeing some of the things that take place" on the campaign trail.

'Joe the Plumber' told conservative radio host Glenn Beck on Tuesday that he felt "dirty" after hitting the campaign trail with Republican presidential nominee John McCain and "seeing some of the things that take place," Politico reported.

No, of course I didn’t. In fact, when anyone asked who I voted for, I said “I voted for Sarah” But Joe the Plumber stood on the same stage with McCain. He campaigned for him- or at least the ticket. Joe demonstrated a dramatic lack of class. He could have said something like, “There were several important issues I disagreed with him on, but Sarah was the real deal and the force that motivated me”. Dissing McCain in such a mean spirited way accomplishes nothing. All it does is disenfranchise McCain supporters and gives the MSM an opportunity to stick it to the Republicans. I’m a firm believer true conservatives have class.

I truly don't know of that many "McCain supporters". There was one guy on the radio here in KC that wanted McCain as the nominee, but I don't know of any others.

That is true, but somehow we just couldn’t come together and support the TRUE CONSRVATIVE candidate and that was Fred Thompson!

Unfortunately, by the time the Republican primary came around in NM, there were only two names on the ballot - McCain and Paul. The earlier, liberal states that allowed open primaries did that for us.

I was wanting to fill in that circle for Thompson. As an aside, though, I don't think the conservative world would have been introduced to Sarah if Thompson would have been the nominee.

It hurts the human spirit to demure when honesty is due.

Not a problem.. hard to find the old references because the comments where just a blip, but these are the first that came up. You kind of have to add things up with this. The first one has a statement that Thompson’s contract bars him from running, the second and third go when to the contract season ends, September 1st. I recall at the time we had a couple of threads on this, but for the most part, it went under the radar.

Ain’t that the truth. He is going to write a book? I really don’t care about his life and how this campaign affected his life.

Lets hope its an electronic book. While I dont believe in the whole global warming thing, as a matter of principle I would hate to see nice trees cut down to print his story.

Don’t go away mad, Joe. Just go away.

This just shows how out of touch the GOP is with the voters.

Not only out of touch, THEY DON’T care!

The GOP leadership thinks that they can “act conservative” enough to fool the voters. Such as substituting the flag burning amendment absurdity vote for the Defense of Marriage Amendment vote.

Joe the Plumber is confirming what we already knew. McCain is a idiot. Always was an idiot.

McCain picked palin to be the “token woman”. McCain never wanted nor desired a conservative of any shape or form.

That is true, but somehow we just couldn’t come together and support the TRUE CONSRVATIVE candidate and that was Fred Thompson! Just my opinion.

I agree, but do you really believe Fred Thompson put his heart and soul into running for the nomination. I dont.

Yeah, mostly the media because they saw him as defeatable and knew if they helped him win the nomination they could just as easily screw him later.

Palin REALLY toss them for a loop and they had to do anything to discredit her...which didn’t go well for them.

All this hurt and rescue by the liberals is carefully planned and has been carried out for a long time....the 50’s maybe? They pushed the perfect Stepford Housewife lifestyle...then “liberated them from it” making the former appear to be a lesser life-style. They encouraged a sexual revolution and now show a chaste life-style to be too old fashioned and closed minded (sexual disease is everywhere, unwanted babies, etc.) They forced the housing crisis by not allowing lenders to turn away those who could never pay for the loans they were receiving...now these same liberals run in to “save us” from it with a bailout?

The liberal colleges teach our doctors to treat symptoms while ignoring how to find the root cause (like overeating and why). Instead...”here’s a pill”. Soon, we will have such a weak and sickly nation most will cry for more and more gov’t/mommy help because they’ll be unable to do anything for themselves. See? We are being taken over from within, which I believe Stalin promised...right?

Actually, I had read she was on Thompson's list of potential running mates.
