No offense but when we people in flyover country hear the words “Illinois” and “politics”, we immediately think Democrat. Unless you are talking about Abe Lincoln. Same goes for Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, etc.....
No offense taken, none at all. For me: Not knowing (or wishing to store) the affiliation of every pol in every office in every state, though; Do you think that in an article of 3456 words; where “sort of obvious” things like
“innocent until proven guilty” and “suggested contributing to Friends of Blagojevich” and etc; and etc; they could throw in that one descriptive adjective....”democrat”?
You do realize that every state you mentioned has had a Republican Governor recently? Michigan and Illinois had Republican Governors until 2003, and Massachusetts and New York had Republican Governors until 2007. In my very blue state, we have a Republican Governor. Don’t be so quick to assume.
