I don't want 0bama forced to show his vault copy birth certificate to defeat him, shove him out, *overturn the will of the people* -- I want him to show his vault copy to indeed prove he does meet the simple Constitutional requirement. For if he does not, if he truly does not satisfy, even for a mere *technicality* but is allowed to hold the office, ignoring that part of the Constitution, than ANY citizen may ignore ANY part of the Constitution as well, bad precedent. Or any other person who misses the requirement for another mere *technicality* must also be allowed the office, another bad precedent.
It is way beyond time we stop allowing people to run for federal office on the "say so" method, either the states, legislatures or the political parties set up a system whereby they verify that any person who wishes to run for office meets the citizenship/residency requirements, for the president, the natural-born status. No more of this idea that we have to prove they don't, that is silly on its face -- one cannot prove a negative.
Thanks for the reply.
Well said. The left's default consideration of the right is entirely false. We don't hate them. We simply vehemently disagree with them.
All I want to know, is that Obama is at minimum, an American in blood and in law. That is all.
It's a foregone conclusion that we will be opposed to practically every ounce of his agenda, because we're conservatives. That's not even at issue, and doesn't equate to hatred of the man on our part.
What the left does not want to recognize, and what they will refuse to see, is that Obama has given our side (and theirs) every reason to suspect that something is amiss with his basic qualification to be President.
Obama himself is responsible for this growing controversy. Not us. Our side has always graciously accepted our election losses, unlike the Democrats. But, they overlook this too.
Our demand that he satisfy the simple requirements of office does not equal extremist hatred for the man.
“In my example, if tourists on a visit happen to birth a child, he is considered a natural-born citizen according to the presidential requirement, what then stops an enemy-country from sending a female here, she has her baby, but takes him back to her country for indoctrination/America hating, etc., only to have him come back here in time to meet the residency requirement and then run for president? Carrying that kind of mindset?? No way, I say this simply cannot be tolerated.”
That would be what we call a loophole. If you don’t like it, amend the Constitution. Or, better yet, raise the issue during the election. I, for one, doubt the chances of success of some evil genius plotting to steal the presidency from abroad in such a manner. Why? Because the odds that any particular person, especially your border-jumping daughter from an enemy nation, will be elected president is almost zero.
