Is There Nothing That Obama Can't Do?
A party in power grows increasingly thuggish;
What the town-hall meetings represent is a feeling of rebellion, an uprising against change they do not believe in. And the Democratic response has been stunningly crude and aggressive. It has been to attack. Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the United States House of Representatives, accused the people at the meetings of “carrying swastikas and symbols like that.” (Apparently one protester held a hand-lettered sign with a “no” slash over a swastika.) But they are not Nazis, they’re Americans. Some of them looked like they’d actually spent some time fighting Nazis.
Then came the Democratic Party charge that the people at the meetings were suspiciously well-dressed, in jackets and ties from Brooks Brothers. They must be Republican rent-a-mobs. Sen. Barbara Boxer said on MSNBC’s “Hardball” that people are “storming these town hall meetings,” that they were “well dressed”, that “this is all organized,” “all planned,” to “hurt our president.” Here she was projecting. For normal people, it’s not all about Barack Obama.
"Thuggish" too strong a word?
As this column is written, there comes word that John Sweeney of the AFL-CIO has announced he’ll be sending in union members to the meetings to counter health care’s critics.
You know what they say - you can take the politician out of Chicago....
"But I don't want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don't mind cleaning up after them, but don't do a lot of talking."

For Barack Obama, democracy appears to be a distraction. He really does seem to view himself as a Caesar.
Shortly after taking office, Obama held a meeting with governors. At the time, one person in the room relayed Obama’s request that critics and skeptics of the stimulus plan keep their concerns to themselves. Just let me do it, was his attitude. He got pushback and he wasn’t happy. He wanted democratically elected state governors to shut up so he could do as he pleased. He knows better and we should respect that, seems to be the attitude.
Thug-in-chief? What would the reaction be if a Republican President said this?

Incredible. “Tomorrow, Saturday, the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition is holding a rally at the local SEIU headquarters. We are going to demand justice for Kenneth Gladney, who was brutally beaten on Thursday night. The St. Louis Coalition will request that the NAACP and the ACLU come out in support of Kenneth Gladney’s rights which were trampled by the union hooligans.”

Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore) today introduced legislation that would fund a Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) pilot program to examine a new source of funding that would help make up for the highway trust fund deficit, which the Department of Transportation estimates will hit $5-7 billion this August. The legislation calls on the Department of the Treasury to undertake a series of studies to demonstrate the viability of a VMT revenue source in every state, and it reflects a successful pilot program undertaken in Oregon.
“We cannot wait to invest in our nation’s roads, bridges, and public transit,” said Rep. Blumenauer. “America’s infrastructure needs critical investments now, and with the highway trust fund flirting with a dangerous deficit, we need innovative solutions that will create a steady source of revenue. Oregon has successfully tested a Vehicle Miles Traveled fee, and it is time to expand and test the VMT program across the country. A VMT system can better assess fees based on use of our roads and bridges, as well as during times of peak congestion, than a fee based on fuel consumption. It is time to get creative and find smart ways to rebuild and renew America’s deteriorating infrastructure.”

Obama isn’t even trying to hide his Chicago Ways. First, he goes to the “BLAME BOOOOOOSH” well yet again, even though the economy right now is entirely the fault and responsibility of Democrats who have held the purse strings for over two years and Obama’s epic failure of a “stimulus”. Obama, who said the stimulus would have to be passed to keep the unemployment rate below 9%. Heh. Then he continues to lie about his critics saying “do nothing!”. Obama’s call has been heard. Leftist union thugs are beating up to shut down dissenters from The One’s policies ala Obama’s hero Hugo Chavez.
Six people were arrested outside the Russ Carnahan town hall event on Thursday after thugs attacked tea party protesters. [...] One black conservative was seriously hurt outside the event.
The Post-Dispatch reported:
St. Louis County police say six people were arrested. Two of those were arrested on suspicion of assault, one of resisting arrest and three on suspicion of committing peace disturbances. Carnahan was gone when the ruckus started. Kenneth Gladney, a 38-year-old conservative activist from St. Louis, said he was attacked by some of those arrested as he handed out yellow flags with “Don’t tread on me” printed on them. He spoke to the Post-Dispatch from the emergency room of the St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, where he said he was waiting to be treated for injuries to his knee, back, elbow, shoulder and face that he suffered in the attack. Gladney, who is black, said one of his attackers, also a black man, used a racial slur against him before the attack started.
“It just seems there’s no freedom of speech without being attacked,” he said.
Freedom of speech belongs only to Obamacrats. Anyone else who even casually calls or writes a few friends and acquaintances to show up at any Congresscritters event with dangerous questions is nothing but manufactured astroturf.
It is on, friends. Leftists have dropped the veil of even pretending to be “bipartisan”.
