FILIBUSTER JUDGES. FILIBUSTER APPOINTMENTS. FILIBUSTER LEGISLATION.

I understand the sentiment. But while the Republican Senators have, in theory, enough votes to defeat cloture motions, filibusters should be used sparingly, if at all. If they try to filibuster everything, they'll quickly have the RINOs bail on them. And, of course, they'd be viewed as sore losers and obstructionists by large portions of the population, to possibly even more disastrous effect in the 2010 elections.

Make no mistake: the GOP should be obstructionists on issues that matter. But some subtlety is required. They should keep their filibuster powder dry for major issues, such as the threatened loss of the secret ballot in union elections. If filibusters are used indiscriminately, they'll fail.

How many times did the dems *actually* filibuster? I’ll give you a hint: zero.

At this point, “filibuster” is just a word. You throw it around to mean “you try and pass this and we’ll debate it to death.”

So when I say “FILIBUSTER [EVERYTHING]” I really mean “be the obstructionists that the democrats have been.
