Indiana just plain sucks.

Indiana was bought out by the Chicago media market. I can't believe...didn't Bush win Indiana by TWENTY or something? If a Republican had a spending advantage like this and won the election because of it...well, you know how well that'd go over. Not a peep from the media about it, except awe.

Obama's huge advantage in resources also played a pivotal role in getting out his vote. And the RNC gave McCain a lot of its resources hurting other Reps down ballot. What really killed us was nominating a self-described maverick as the standard bearer and who actively campaigned against his own party. By doing that he alienated many Reps and hurt Reps down ticket.

Or in some other cases, Reps down ticket outperformed McCain substantially. For example, in 2004 Bush easily won Indiana by 21 points. In 2008 Mitch Daniel won reelection with 58% of the vote or 1,542,371 votes. McCain won 1,329,370 votes or over 200,000 less. As a result, Obama won the state.
