In Ohio there is a difference of 66724 votes w/that one having the lead. Three counties have not even reported.

A concession has no legal effect. It is considered classy and courteous. But many candidates who have conceded were later sworn into office when the final tally showed them to be the winner.

Of course, that isn't going to happen for McCain this election.

One can "hope" for "change" can't they?

IF speechifying constitutes anything, anything at all, we’re in deeper trouble than anybody knows.

Besides, we were talking about Gore retracting his concession.

That's part of my original question. Does him conceding in the manner he did mean he is out "Period"?

Florida's early early votes, absentee votes are not all counted. Neither are provisional & I don't know if military are included. The difference between McCain & 0 right now is barely 200,000.

Gore didn’t publicy announce a concession if I recall.

He didn't but was about to when he turned on his heels. I recall his supporters standing there waiting and waiting looking at an empty stage (as we all did) only to hear that he was going to wait until morning. By then it was around 1:30 a.m. est.

McCain is just jerky and stuborn enough to stick to his concession, even if “the one” who can’t qualify for security clearance hurts the nation McCain loves. So much for fighting for us. I have to shield my childrens eyes when he gives future speeches.

Early voting should be disallowed in the future.

Something is very weird. She says obama looks like he isn’t happy. She says he looks strained.

I just said the same thing to my husband. When they replayed part of his speech - I said that he looks angry! You'd think he'd be happy right now, but he doesn't look happy at all. Michelle looked restrained too. Weird.

Candidates don’t decide elections, the vote count does and the electoral college does. Conceding is something one does to show that they know they have lost. People have conceded before and actually wound up winning. So, if the vote count actually shows McCain winning at the final tally then he still wins, of course the dems would scream like squashed pu**ies but so what?:) One can always hope. I thought it was foolish of McCain to concede considering the level of actual voter fraud that was documented this election. He should have stayed the course and took it to court.

McCain already conceded, Bubbah. Oh, and make sure you’re logged in. If you don’t know how, feel free to ask.

Then you both won tonight, and perhaps with her help we’ll see conservatism throughout our government once again. The good guys are still around; they just need reinforcements.

I’ve never understood why we don’t count first and announce afterwards. The manipulation by those who “call” a state should be considered vote-tampering.

It looks like KC/St. Louis are going to “find” enough votes to give Missouri to the Zero.

McCain got 58 percent in Greene County. He needed 61.

Sad. Very sad.

At this point who cares? Even 269 would be enough to give us BHO. Time to get ready for 2010.

Thanks that helped. I just wasn’t sure if the count still went on or if it stopped when he conceded.
