Couric demanded that no one on her staff refer to Governor Palin as Governor.

That's OK. Governor Palin demanded that no one on her staff refer to that Leftist(redacted) Couric as "That Leftist (redacted)".

Many of you may have seen Greta Van Susteren’s programs, where she went to Alaska, to interview Todd Palin, Sarah’s parents and others, and to check out (but in a nice way) everything about the Governor’s life. However, I remember her more than once saying that EVERYONE in Alaska just calls her “Sarah”, not “governor”.

BTW, Greta has been one of the governor’s and the Palin family’s biggest defenders! I often thought Greta was a big liberal, but she has treated this family with kindness and respect at every turn. When she went up to Alaska, her interviewers were more like that which would be done on a celebrity; they were not political in nature at all.

Interviews by Greta and by Hannity make up for the garbage that the rest of the media has put forth re: “Sarah” and her family.

No they won’t. Even if McCain/ Palin win. They haven’t called Bush Mr President for the last 7 years and change, they ain’t gonna call Palin anything respectful either.

The media may be slighting her but Americans call her Sarah because she is one of us and most of us love her. I can see how it could be insulting, but I haven’t found a politician since Reagan that I admired so much.

Couric demanded that no one on her staff refer to Governor Palin as Governor.”

Couric would be less impressed with the name I regularly call her......... and I don’t mean “perky”.

Couric is a over-exposed, tired witch of a person, and I feel sorry for anyone who is assigned to be her staff.

The libs refused to call GW “President Bush”. Instead they always said “Mister Bush”.”

Correct- watch the crals under the AM news from ABC in particular.
ABC still always refers to Bill Clinton as President Clinton.....

I hope I’m replying to the author, I’m rather new.

I think that it is absolutely necessary to push back on the media that refers to Governor Palin as just Sarah. Yes, she may like it that way according to one poster here, but in order to maintain and enhance her credibility with voters it is important to stress her stewardship of that large and great state by using her title.

I think Governor Palin is what we ought to be using—always. “Sarah” seems too cute and trite and it seems to play into that preconceived notion in the press that she somehow isn’t a heavy weight on issues. Let me say, Governor Palin can kick some a** on a wide range of issues, and in the closing days of this campaign I hope to hear more her views on energy (she’s an acknowledged expert on this!) and how to lead our country to energy independence.

I think maybe she has what it takes to be a real one name person. I don’t hear anyone saying that “Elvis” is disrespectful to the man’s memory! In the future “Sarah” may have only one meaning.

Otherwise it is ALWAYS Governor Sarah Palin or Gov. Sarah Palin, or Gov. Palin.

That is the formally correct form.

However Sarah Palin is who she is as an individual. And "Sarah Palin" is pretty awesome, so I consider it an acceptable way of referencing to her.

But Mrs Palin (or Ms Palin) is an attempt to diminish her by giving her a title, but one which, although technically correct, is less exclusive than her actual achievement.

Right out is Joe the Hard-Coal Miner's "'Lieutenant Governor' Palin"

Also ‘out’ is “Mayor of Wasilla Sarah Palin”. When Senator 0bama said that I wanted the McCain/Palin ticket to call him “Illinois State Senator 0bama” until he corrected himself.
