Will an Obama Win Doom Rush Limbaugh?

There is just one slight problem. No one is forcing Americans to listen to Rush Limbaugh or other popular conservative talk show hosts. In fact, radio is still one shining beacon of free market economics in the United States. Everyday, when Americans reach for the dial, they are confronted with dozens of choices much like when they go to buy a six-pack of beer at the local supermarket. The decision is based on tastes and Rush Limbaugh happens to be the Budweiser (or is it Bud Light these days?) of talk radio in America. Why? Limbaugh appeals to the average American on the left and the right because of his ability to interpret politics into layman’s terms while at the same time making it entertaining. No other political talk show host has been able to captivate and hold such a large audience for so long a period of time as Rush Limbaugh...

Ridiculous, Limbaugh will have more listeners and prestige than at any time since the Clintons were in power.

Who is going to be the voice of opposition to O’Bama, Pelosi, Reed, et. al.? John Boner and his boy Cantor—hardly.

It will be talk radio. Where Limbaugh reigns.

It's probably No. 3 on Obortion’s to-do list. No. 1, of course, is passing and signing the FOCA. Abortion is a sacred sacrament for liberals. They literally draw their life from spilling the blood of innocent unborn children, and they have to protect, strengthen, and expand the heinous practice to include partial birth and born-alive killings. No. 2 will be raising taxes. In addition to abortion, raising taxes is just something ‘Rats do. It's in their genetic makeup. So Obortion will make retroactive to January 2009 the expiration of the Bush tax cuts in 2010. Remember that's how the ‘rats did it in ‘93 with Clinton. They passed the tax increase and made the new rates retroactive to the beginning of the year. Increases taxes for the social(ist) programs, you see. The Hush Rush bill will follow that. Once they have their blood and money, the ‘Rats will come after free speech. That will consolidate their hold on power, probably for another generation or so.

Time really flies. Like many others, I first started listening during the 92 election cycle. Hard to believe that was 16 years ago. He has too many obscene profit center time outs, but after a while, you learn where they go in the format and can tune out. Like at 10 minutes before the hour, when he says he'll be right back? Fuggeddaboutit.

He'll run a bunch of commercials, then come back at about 5 minutes til the hour, for two seconds, just long enough to say don't go away we'll be back. They'll run commericials til the top of the hour, then local news, more commercials, and he'll come back at precisely 7 minutes after the hour. That's 17 minutes every hour right there. Too much. But I still tune in.

Rush is very funny sometimes. Operation Chaos was hilarious. And he sometimes presents a unique angle that others hadn't thought of. Sometimes he gets boring, or starts riffing on things he doesn't really understand. But overall, he is entertaining, or else I wouldn't be tuning in for going on 17 years.

“Operation Chaos” to deny Hilary the nomination?”

What?!?

Operation Chaos was about helping Hillary in the primary! Not denying her the nomination! Rush told people to “Vote For Hillary,” in the primary against Obama, not against her! Operation Chaos was about keeping Hillary alive to fight Obama!

You were not paying attention. You get an “F” from the Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies.

I’m afraid it may be more serious this time...

The understatement of the year. Obama (if elected) will usher in the total destruction of this country and everything it stood for. I (for one) am praying for Divine Intervention. God will not forsake Israel for they are His chosen people. It is THAT which I cling to keep my faith during these trying times.

There goes the brilliant “Operation Chaos” to deny Hilary the nomination so the Republicans could get the White House from a considerably weaker Barack Obama.

If Obama wins Hillary would have won bigger, so Rush kept us competitive. For certain he caused both candidates to burn money fighting each other that would have been available to fight McCain. And there would be no P.U.M.A.'s

So if you're smarter that Rush I look forward to listening to your radio program. You should clean up.

For some time now I've been saying that if Obama wins you can expect the politics of New Jersey to spread across the rest of the country.

Think of Radio Free New Jersey when you imagine the future under Democrats.

No, It will be the MOST fun to have a democrat in office that is so stupid (as Pelosi/Obama may be)as to think they can use the US government to silence us. I always have said, if a liberal must be in power, then better to have the dumbest one. Right now democrats and their media still have the public convinced that GWB is the evil king and there is NO congress. But if Obama was president with Pelosi and starts really stupid stuff, and we have FNC channel we did have in 1993-94 when democrats couldnt Hush Rush, all hell will break loose.

Oh hell no.

But it might doom the Rush Limbaugh Show.

Rush has more money than ten men could spend.

Again, if done as it was before dereguation, there are many examples of right leaning hosts doing well under that regulation.

I'm not as alarmist as you. The broadcast industry has a very strong lobby. They have had a free for all for about 20 years and have been very effective in out gunning congress and the FCC.

Rush's bigger problem is his loss of influence.

But we have never seen THE LEFTY in such compete power or as far LEFT as what we are facing

the results could truly dooom our Republic

Election fraud on massive scale let go unchecked by the courts? We lost our franchise of a fair vote

We have already lost our free press as a true news organization- it is now a propaganda arm of the DNC
We get some of our breaking news critical of Obama from foreign press releases

Gatekeepers over the internet? Plenty of help available to the marxists. From Red China perhaps. Have you noticed a reduction in quality and quantity of internet search results for critical information? I have.

Citizens’ right to speak out and criticize? Govt hounds pursue you- look at Joe the Plumber.

Politicians willing to run aganst the machine? Look at what they are doing to the Palin family.

Freedom of religion? Watch the lawsuits against the Catholic and other Churches proliferate when the enemies of religion take control of the US Government

Investigations of “hate speech” in the Bible. Mandates to offer sacraments like marriage as a “civil right” to any and all. You think I am exaggerating? US Military Christian chaplains already forbidden to say the name “Jesus Christ” in public? Oh, they can do it in private? Look at what is happening when Christian prayer groups meet privately on a Govt subsidized installation. And frankly, most public meeting places are “govt subsidized”

We are in deep doo doo and 50 million stupid angry lemming Americans are mesmerized and hypnotized by this fraud snake oil salesman. We just thought after watching the Germans in the 1930’s, that it could never happen here. And remember it took US to get the Germans out of it. When we go, who will get us out of it?

All Rush has to do is suggest that listeners call, write or email their elected misrepresentatives and the deluge will frighten their marxist butts.

I hate to invoke the name of Howard Stern into this but look at what happened to him. He left terrestial radio because he knew his company would not stick up for him against the FCC’s meddling. Plus, I am really not sure how strong the broadcast lobby is anymore. It seems like the FCC has been able to run all over radio stations in the past decade...

The old Fairness Doctrine was not overturned by the Supreme Court and it stood for over two decades. This doctrine was used to silence Carl McIntyre, a conservative Presbyterian minister who used a radio station he owned in Red Lion, PA, to promote politically conservative causes. In 1969, the Supreme Court upheld the Fairness Doctrine.

What will likely happen is that the top tier of conservative talkers, like Rush Limbaugh and maybe Sean Hannity and Michael Savage, will survive because their audiences are sufficiently large to offset three hours of unprofitable liberals. The rest will go by the wayside. However, broadcast radio, especially in smaller markets, will avoid any controversy. The music format is dying as Ipods have pre-empted that market. What will be left will consist of what is now standard weekend fare: cars, gardens, home repair, finances, sports, and the like. Satellite radio and the Internet are where conservative talkers will migrate. Howard Stern and Alex Jones, not popular figures on FR, moved in this direction several years ago and have developed markets for their respective specialties of bawdiness and conspiracism. There is no reason that conservative talkers and evangelical ministers could not do as well or better than Stern and Jones. Since neither media are currently classified as common carriers, it will require a re-definition of that term to extend the Fairness Doctrine there.

Imagine the FCC under Obamite control
Along with Congress and courts

all tasked to stop the racist hate speech attacks (ie, political criticism) of a black president who is TRYING to bring CHANGE...if only his racist enemies woud not impede his efforts...
