Our friends in Santa Rosa County have started a "Bridge Brigade". People man the Gulf Breeze side of the bridge connecting to Pensacola each Friday until Election Day waving signs supporting McCain/Palin. The second Bridge Brigade of about 15 people was 17 Oct and received lots of honks and thumbs up. The third Brigade is this Friday, 24 Oct and we urge interested Escambia County vets to join in this effort. In the words of Col. Jett Crouch USAF (Ret.), the Chairman of the Santa Rose Vets -----
"We continue our march toward victory on 4 Nov. To ensure we get as many people to the polls to vote for Senator McCain; our Veterans group in Santa Rosa County has begun the Bridge Brigade. We will be located on the Gulf Breeze side of the 3 mile bridge of the east bound lanes.
As workers come back to their homes from Pensacola, the motorists will be met with a large Veteran for McCain sign located in the back of a pick up truck, along with volunteers waving and carrying signs. Our motto for this Bridge Rally is DEFEAT SOCIALISM. Please make up your Defeat Socialism sign and bring it with you to the event.
Our Escambia coalition is invited to join as well. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO MAKE THIS EVENT A SUCCESS. SO PLEASE ATTEND.

Here is the schedule for the upcoming Bridge Brigade events.
Friday, Oct 24 Time: 4:00pm - 5:30pm Location: Gulf Breeze Side, East Bound lanes at end of 3mi Bridge
Friday Oct 31 Time: 4:00pm-5:30pm Location: Gulf Breeze Side, East Bound lanes at end of 3 mi Bridge
Tues: ELECTION DAY Nov 4 (two events)
First event: 6:30 am - 8:00 am Location: Gulf Breeze Side, West Bound lanes at beginning of 3 mi Bridge
Second event: 4:00pm -6:00pm Location: Gulf Breeze Side, East Bound lanes at end of 3mi bridge
Remember, this race is not over. There is an AP poll out as we write this saying that McCain and Obama are dead even. STAY IN THE FIGHT!

Put out an e-mail to gather in Brevard County a month ago...NOBODY wanted to do it from FR that responded and others ignored it. There is a group of maybe a dozen regulars who sign wave every day though and I go after work to join with them a few days a week when I have time.

Well, as we see the day drawing nearer, and the possible reality of the Obamessiah actually becoming the Comander-in-Chief, the harsh reality of the thought may drive the slackers off their couches to the frontlines. Maybe. I hope.

We tried to early vote here yesterday and the line was out the door and around the corner at 3 in the afternoon. I hope and pray this bides well for McCain/Palin.
We will be in NC next week and I will miss all the news on FR.
