"Politically Motivated" Mutilation - Real or Hoax?
Pittsburgh law enforcement sources tell TMZ they have serious questions about the authenticity of the alleged victim who says she had her face cut by a politically-motivated attacker.
We're told there are several things about the alleged attack that don't add up. A Pittsburgh PD official says they are conducting a "thorough investigation" and have not determined if the alleged attack is real or a hoax. But we're told there is definitely a level of skepticism.
As we reported, the alleged victim claims she went to an ATM and when she turned around, a large dark-skinned man took the money she withdrew. She says when he noticed she had a McCain/Palin bumper sticker on her car, he became enraged, knocked her down and cut a "B" in her face.
We're told the woman refused medical assistance at the scene and said she would go to the hospital the next day.
The investigation continues.
Oh my Lord. What a horrible experience. Thank goodness for big poodles. People have no idea how much fight a standard poodle can put up...great dogs.
Anyway, could everyone who is so inclined please pray for this poor girl to have the strength to put up with the buckets of waste that are about to come her way? True or untrue, this story is about to change this poor child’s whole world. I would not want to be in her shoes and may God please look after her.
I could buy this being done by a key by the attacker.
This is not the wound from a night attack with a knife. It just isn’t.
Seems too many are way too quick to dismiss this as a fraud without any investigation.
Why would it “be easy to verify since she’s apart of the college Republicans”? People who perpetrate hoaxes like this are generally doing it to get attention and increase their status within their peer group. She’s a College Republican, but maybe she thinks the other College Republicans don’t take her seriously enough, and this would make her a star within the group. I read that she’s already gotten a call from Palin.
College girls who’ve pubicly recounted impassioned stories of how they were raped, which are later found to be fake, have been active in feminist political groups that were big on pushing the idea that women get raped all the time, no matter how careful they are. The same groups push them to the forefront and make campus and local stars out of them, once they claim to have been raped.
Don’t you think its awfully convenient that this young woman who is so eagerly running all over the northeast trying to drum up support for McCain-Palin just happened to get mugged at an ATM by the only mugger in Greater Pittsburgh (or the nation, as far as we’ve heard) who reacts to the sight of a McCain sticker on his victim’s car by stopping to scratch a “B” in her cheek before making himself scarce after the ATM job?
Looks to me like she was VERY careful not to make that “cut” so deep that it could leave a scar. I can’t quite imagine a mugger/carver being so cautious . . . and so neat . . .

She claimed it was out of sight from the camera.
But there’s an easy way to verify this.
She also claims she was there to use the ATM. The bank should have both a record of the transaction, AND, her image recorded as she was making the withdrawal.
Make that [beforehand] image public. What does her face look like then?
We don’t need hoaxes, if this is indeed one proffered “for our side”.
Someone should get to the bottom of this, quickly. Failure to do so will only provide ammunition for the other side.
I’m wondering just how deep her “Republican credentials” go, as well. As deep as her wounds?
Sorry for the unsympathetic suggestions, but this kind of stuff is usually perpetrated by the other side.... which is why I’m sensing “double-agent” here...

The rush to doubt the woman’s story is shallow.
A knife tip held with pressure on its side against skin and slowly moved across skin in a directon away from the point could make scratch marks like the ones in the picture of the woman’s face.
In order to do so, the victim’s head would have to be cradled against the attackers body. This cannot be done unless the victim’s head is in a position in which the scratching of the B would end up looking just like it does.
In other words, turn the photo of the head back into the same position it was when the attacker scratched it with his knife, and the B is exactly like he would have scratched it. It is only when the woman’s head is upright that the B appears to be written backwards.
It was shallow to jump to the conclusion that the B was scratched with the sharp edge of the knife rather than with the side of knife end moving across the skin under pressure.

It was shallow to jump to the conclusion that the mark was either scratched or painted on by the woman while looking into a mirror.
The B is not entirely neat. Notice a lesser mark off to the side. Notice the bruises on the face which are evidence that the woman’s story is true.
I know something about the hatred some Obama supporters have for McCain supporters. And I do know that Obama prompted his supporters “to get in the faces” of McCain supporters. The woman’s story fits in with that directive by Obama.
Should the woman’s story be true, I would not want to be among those who rushed to doubt it.

OR because she was on the ground and he carved in her face UPSIDE DOWN.
We are better than "the media", and should not hesitate to ask hard questions when someone makes fishy claims about having been a victim of a "hate crime" on our behalf.

I was willing to believe it, but the BACKWARDS B is a dead giveaway
1) Picture yourself writing it on your face and how it would look, now try writing it so the letter is correct- you can easily make a backwards B on your own face, a correct B is hard.
2) Now picture the criminal writing ON you- why would HE write it backwards?
She’s a long time McCain volunteer from Texas.
Both campaigns have issued statements. Mac and Palin have called her and her parents. Do you think ANY of that would have happened if it had been a hoax?
Bloomfield is Pittsburgh’s “Little Italy”.
It isn’t a bad part of town per se, even if it’s next to East Liberty, which is.
Very good penmanship, wouldn't you say? Especially on a soft medium like a face. I am skeptical.

The pic is obviously with a flash. If shot in the mirror all you’d ever see is white light obscuring most everything.
IF she were already on the ground and the aledged assailant bent over her on his knees from above her head he would be carving a normal "B" that appears backward when we view her face normally.
When I take pictures of the kids on the Photo Booth on my Mac, they are mirror images unless I set it to automatically adjust. I didn’t know I could do that the first year I owned this computer. The first 500 pictures are all mirrored. Could it be that she took the picture on her computer and clicked the email button without taking the time to switch it around?
A hoax is believed by some. It doesn't have to be out of the realm of possibility. The circumstances need to be verified.
