Oct. 22) - A Minnesota congressional race has drawn national attention since incumbent Michele Bachmann called Barack Obama's patriotism into question on MSNBC's 'Hardball.' "I am very concerned that he might have anti-American views," Bachmann said, although she later expressed regret for the remark after initially denying making the comments. Her original comment galvanized Democrats who flooded her opponent with campaign donations.
Accusations, denials and regrets have consumed the airwaves as Republicans question their rivals' patriotism in the waning days of the presidential campaign. On Friday, Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., said of Barack Obama, "I am very concerned that he might have anti-American views." Here, she speaks at the GOP convention in her state this summer
Last week in North Carolina, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin referred to small towns as the "real America," and described residents as "very hard working, very patriotic, very pro-American." The Republican vice presidential nominee later apologized on CNN. "I don't want that misunderstood," she told the network.
In North Carolina this weekend, Rep. Robin Hayes, R-N.C., said, "Liberals hate real Americans that work and accomplish and achieve and believe in God." Later, he said he didn't recall what he said, but then reviewed his comments and said that the words didn't come out right. He is pictured here in his office.

The national RNC has pulled all ad support for Michele.
You are kidding, right??
I see absolutely no reason why any of us should send money when her own party...the pubs, of course....are pulling their support for her.
Here is another fine example of the pubs with no gonads. They do, however, have lovely tans, polished nails, shiny wing tips and head hairs that always stay in their appointed place.
On the bright side, it appears that around half the poll respondents agree with her!
Send money to her. Not McCain, not party. We will need her next year after the train wreck
He does have anti-American views, so do his friends.
Another one of those “emperors new clothes” moments.
I’ll send her money before I ever send anything to the RNCC...
Thanks. There’s no way I’d ever go to WCCO on my own.
2 words for the RNCC: Spineless Ba$tards.
Gee what a surprise the scumbag “news” media are making this a big story when there is REAL scandal with that sleazeball Rep Tim Mahoney and that is a big nothing to them.
Sunday MSNBC had a special hardball and showed Powell claiMing this was a reason for him stabbing McCain and R party in the back after spending a lifetime getting R career jumps. And Mathews completely made up the words and made them hers.
Dis McCain but love Palin,
This is why conservatives need to learn to stay the hell away from the MSM. Those people are communists. They hate Americans. Associating with them gets you absolutely NO WHERE. The MSM is not a friend to Americans. Ask John McCain and Governor Palin.
The race should tighten now. McCain has finally got back to last summer's conservative theme, a good message, I don't expect him to win because I think he blew that with his cowardly support of the bailout. The closeness and attacks on taxes are key in making us (the 60 % of Americans that fund this country in taxes) aware of Obamas marxist plans is KEY to next years resistance. FR is our base for this.
Exactly. McCain found out the hard way that the MSM is not his friend. They fooled him for a long time though.
Don’t misunderstand me. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Dodd, Shumer... will be terrible for this country. But if someone had to loose this year to pay for Bush’s big government establishment sins, I just assume it be Mr Phony, BS, reformer, Maverick, no beliefs, any deal is possible, McCain. When he ran with us, he pulled ahead, when he dumped us, he dropped. We were lectured for 8 years he would get all independents and media. Guess what? I think McCain loss will be the seed of a rebirth of conservativism. Lets not blow it it this time. Resistance 2009!
Con games only work with a willing, and usually none too smart, "mark".
