Conversations with an internal pollster for Obama...
RedState ^

Posted on 10/18/2008 8:50:02 AM PDT by PaRep

I have an interesting story to relay that took place earlier this week between my boss (a senior VP in the company I work for) and one of the Obama campaigns' internal pollsters.

Just to note, my boss is a republican and was meeting the Obama rep over lunch for other reasons. Politics obviously came up due to his line of work.

He asked my boss what her political leanings were and they did some chit chat around the issues and the impressions each had on the state of the race. What happened next was more than fascinating and should be a reminder to all of us to buck up and remain strong. All is not lost. In fact, we may be in a much better spot than we think - despite the national polls and what the daily media drumbeat to give up.

Dittos!

It is Hollywood/DNC/MSM who have set Republicans up in this decades long illusion....they write the script of what we are....and we defend against it.

And this must end, the election of the anti-American Hussein by the MSM, is the last straw.

Let's keep on fighting (and even if we have to drag McCain [Yosemite Sam] over the finish line - as Rush fondly exhorts us to do - let's do it) and let's win this thing!

They know that there is a huge silent majority out there that they will never convince to vote for them and they don’t like it

I nominate this as the FR "hit the nail on the head" statement of the day.

I’m not dispirited! I’m in it for the long haul...and I agree that these polls are just a distraction..

I don’t believe that middle America will just hand this election over to O’Siah...

Keep fightin’ the good fight!!!

Obama will draw the youth vote in a greater percentage than many think. They are totally mesmerized by Obama. I see too many of them and argue with them but nothing gets through. Will they be responsible enough to get to the polls? I think so. We have to keep trying to shake their confidence in the One. I think it should be a priority in the home stretch to reach these kids.

McGovern tried the same thing and so did howard Dean...it won’t work, there are not enough of them and by in large, they rarely turn out to vote

Thanks for posting, we all can use some good news now and then.
It is clear that nobama or any other politician would be wasting money in “secure” states if they didn’t have internals that showed them where they really stand. No campaign or their MSM supporters would spend so much obviously biased effort going after someone like Palin and now Joe the Plumber if they didn’t see them as a BIG danger to their election. Why would they use ACORN to clearly try stealing an election they have in the bag.
We really do have a good chance of beating nobama. Palin, Joe and ACORN have gotten noticed by everyone!

Everyone is assuming Obama’s massive turnout operation having a major impact. Certainly the black vote will be increased, if nothing else. What we don’t know is whether the Bradley effect will cost Obama 1 point or 5 points. We also don’t know how much of an effect Palin will have on Republican turnout. Keep in mind, Kerry thought he’d win on turnout in 2004 and he did actually get 8 million more votes than Gore in 2000. The problem was that Bush turned out 11.5 million more votes than in 2000. Palin’s rallies seem to be stoking the base much like Bush did in 2004. McCain’s campaign claims to have made more phone contacts than were made at a similar point in 2004 by the vaunted Bush/Rove machine. The fact that McCain and the RNC have saved a wad of cash for the stretch run could also be a huge variable.

Senator GOVERNMENT knows he cannot win legitimately, so THAT ONE has now called in the GOON SQUADS to silence any opposition. The Osama HUSSEIN Obama brownshirts want to “prosecute anyone who lies or has a misleading ad” about THAT ONE....

Guess they should start prosecuting SENATOR GOVERNMENT first, since all his ads are chocked full of lies and misleading statements!

Voters should be SCREAMING about ANTI-FREE SPEECH PUBLIC SERVANTS who are abusing their positions. Civil Rights attorneys should be ALL OVER these ba$tard$!

I would be surprised if very much of Obama’s youth appeal is based on pocketbook issues. I think it’s mostly sheer stupidity and irrationality, brought on by libtard educators and reinforced by Obama’s “coolness”.

The "stolen election" scenario is already in play. When the head of the Osama HUSSEIN Obama campaign in this state was asked why they are running ads here when they've got NO CHANCE of winning, he responded with "it's part of our 50-state strategy to win the popular vote"! They've probably already got an army of lawyers waiting in the wings to litigate their way to the White House. It's up to us to make sure it's not even close!

Historically, the “youth vote” has never turned out, even though they are inspired and whipped up. The youth vote will not be a factor.

Well, I still expect McCain to blow Hussein out of the water. But I must admit, in the dark of the n ight sometimes, I worry.

My wife despises Obama, but seems to despise Palin more, thinking she is a “cheer-leader”. My son thinks she reflects poorly on McCain's judgement, and plans to vote for Obama on this one factor alone; although, he has since added “the economy”

My sister-in-law and my ex-sister-in-law talk the economy and say they can't believe he thought women would vote for her just because she's a woman. They consider it an insult. My mother-in-law, who was so excited about Palin, now worries that she's not smart enough to be President someday.

On the other hand, I love the woman, but I was going to hold my nose and vote for McCain anyway. But sometimes I worry.

I have faith in the American people, except sometimes I remember what idiots so many of them are that have the right to vote.

Well, I still expect them to come around, and i will certainly vote. That's all we can do, come November 4

Let us pray.

No doubt the election could drag on like SoreLoserman. If it comes out nobama and close I hope the Repub lawyers fight it like the life and death battle it will be. I don’t care if it goes beyond Jan. 2009! W will still be POTUS until its decided.
The ACORN theft is all the more reason to stay away from 3rd Party protest voting and to GET OUT THE VOTE.

Many of this age group as you kow are fighting a war to keep us free, Will those young men and women get a chance to vote? That has been a big concern to me.

I have grandchildren age 18 to 32.They all vote Republican but none are now in college. (My 18 yr. old grandson a first time voter of course)

My SIL has two children with his first wife,(a liberal) and both kids are in college.

They are voting Obama and my SIL is beside himself with worry,he has tried to tell them facts about Obama. They won't even answer his emails to them. The daughter is the oldest and she is now working on her Masters, I think. Liberal to the core.

That was why I asked the age question. Are college kids more likely to be liberal or is it learned at home?

Thanks for responding TT.

Of course the Dems are scared. Why else would the MSM be ignoring Palin now? Apparently their efforts to make her look bad didn’t pan out ... so now they just barely even mention her anymore.

I don’t trust the “polls” either. This is my 8th presidential election. They’re always proven wrong after election day. And has there ever been any EVIDENCE that the election was stolen in 2004 and 2000? In the past 32 years I have NEVER been polled. Granted, for much of that time I have had an unlisted phone number, now I don’t even have a land line. And I’m willing to bet there are millions just like me. The whole purpose is to discourage Republicans into staying home....especially on actual voting day when they begin to spew the numbers on t.v. and radio before all the polls are closed across the country. Just ignore them, everyone, listen to SMART RADIO, (Rush, Levin, Hewitt) then VOTE for McCain...we can always straighten him out after the election.
