Frustrated Dion lashes out at CTV

OTTAWA - Stephane Dion couldn't hide his contempt for the CTV television network following his resounding election defeat Tuesday night.

The Liberal leader was making his way to the podium at his campaign headquarters in Montreal when he was approached by a CTV camera crew. A frustrated Dion snapped at the reporter, telling him CTV is the last media outlet he would speak to.

"The last one I want to speak first (to) is CTV - you understand that?" he said angrily.

Last week, Dion botched a pre-recorded, English-language interview with a Halifax CTV affiliate.

Dion, who looked confused, interrupted local anchor Steve Murphy to say he didn't understand his opening question and asked whether they could start over.

It took another two false starts before the interview finally proceeded.

I’m glad this guy got beat. But he has a point. His bad interview looked to me to be a clear case of poor English and not the clueless stupidity CTV portrayed it to be. It’s funny how these leftists just can’t seem to resist shooting their own dog every now and then.

As I predicted Stephane Dion, took the Liberals to a political low not seen in Canada since 1867, and in the process made the hapless John Turner look good. No wonder he's flustered this morning. 76 Liberal MPs are not going to be enough to pose a real threat to the Harper government!

All in all, pretty good.

Resounding defeat. A lot of Liberals just did not bother to come out and vote. If a lot more stayed away, the Liberal caucus would be even smaller and Harper would have his majority. All in all, its not bad to see the once Natural Governing Party of Canada cut down to size!

Nearly three times as many Canadians speak English as French.

If you want to be prime minister of Canada, you need to speak and understand both French and English reasonably well, and fumbling with your English is going to hurt you more than fumbling with your French.

It is cluelessly stupid for him to have not worked on improving his English much more by now.
