'Say It Aint So, O!' Color before Gender?
Washington Times ^ | Sept. 15, '08 | Andrew Breitbart

Posted on 09/20/2008 3:03:53 AM PDT by T.L.Sink

If there ever were a candidate destined to shine on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Sarah Palin would be that woman. She is the Oprah audience personified - an unlikely feminist icon who braved the storm while deftly protecting her children when the whole family survived a vicious press assault. Yet Oprah, the high priestess of the female empowerment movement, denies her massive audience's wishes because of her single-minded drive to put Obama in the White House. She said, "I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over." Hillary Clinton can certainly relate to the Palin shutout. Oprah helped annihilate the first female major party presidential candidate by failing to humanize her the way only the Queen of Daytime Talk could. Winfrey launched Obama as a national brand when she lavished praise on him in 2005. Obama appeared again in 2006 and she said she would support him if he ever ran for the presidency. After Obama decided to run Oprah made the official endorsement in May, 2007.

If there's anything she hates it's racial favoritism and male chauvinism - except when two white women run against a black male.

Color before gender? Not so much.

I think it’s Bros before Hoes.

Oprah is doing what she thinks is good for her agenda. It is her lick spittle self hating fans I have a quarrel with. They need the big benevolent sister to give them her blessing.

The most gratifying thing I can think of would be for GOV Palin to pass on any future requests from Oprah for an interview on her program.

Oprah: Gee, VP. Palin, do you think you could come here and do an interview on myprogram?

VP. Palin: Gee, Oprah, I am just SOOOOOOOOOOO busy as VP. Perhps you could interview former SEN Barack Obama again - that would be nice.

I printed this picture yesterday and put it on a coat hanger near the road.

It was torn down within a half hour when I drove by later.

I should do it again, camp out with a camcorder, and put it on YouTube.

It is a picture that literally drives Obama worshippers, feminists, and liberals nuts.

That is the most powerful and moving photo of her and Trig that I’ve seen.
Anyone who doubts her her core strength, resolve, and ,yes defiance should look very carefully at this one photo.

She may well indeed become our Iron Lady.

I think Oprah has just had her Waterloo in terms of favorability. I suspect a long decline in her ratings that will put her into oblivion. She is the worst kind of Bigot.

Good point. Her liberalism was confined to her show, people looked past it. Whe if falls out of her like a muffin-top belly over a French bikini then she jumped her own couch.

She has to go all in for nObama now, he's her only "hope." How ironic...

Well .. I think the real problem is this: When George Bush was campaigning for the 2000 election, Oprah had both Gore and Bush on her program.

Gore’s performance was okay - and he had a good response from the audience. As he and Oprah stood up to receive his final applause, Oprah held up one hand - shielding the other hand - which was pointing at Gore and she was mouthing something to the effect - vote for this one. The audience didn’t seem to respond.

However, when George Bush came for his interview on Oprah .. he got an even more enthusiastic response from the audience. The real capper was when he finished and stood up for his final applause ...... that’s when SOMETHING UNUSUAL HAPPENED.

I’ve never forgotten it - as I just happened to be home from work that day and got to see it first hand. As GW stood and the audience began clapping .. a camera way in the back of the audience caught some of the audience beginning to stand up - it started off slowly to Oprah’s left and slightly back behind her. She was not aware the standing ovation had started .. but as the wave of people standing up continued .. Oprah suddenly noticed her audience were all standing up and continuing to applaud for GW. IT WAS STUNNING TO WATCH !!!

But the real prize was the look of shock on Oprah’s face as she realized that the candidate that she favored (Gore) was NOT the candidate the public liked.

With her sudden dissing of Sarah Palin .. I can’t help but wonder if the memory of that event with GW has her terrified of the response Sarah might get - a response AGAINST HER CANDIDATE.

I totally understand why she doesn’t want to experience that again. Quite frankly .. Sarah can do without Oprah.

A fantastic photo. Yes, try again and good luck. If you get a picture of the perpetrators you’ll probably see some thugs trained by community organizers.

Good point - but she’s lost some of her audience since she made that endorsement. Personally, I think anyone who votes according to Oprah’s endorsement is certifiably non compos mentis.

Your tag-line by Churchill reminds me of something our Wendell Willkie said: “Any young man who’s not something of a socialist has no heart; any man who is still a socialist at 40 has no head.”

it could be interpreted in different ways when seen on a coat hanger......like you wished she had used it on her son.....did you put some words on to make your point?
