I've been ripping on "the guy who shall be nameless" for 15 years, and I've been plenty vocal about my distaste for him on this site the entire time I've been here. At one point I was one of the darlings of FreeRepublic because by pointing out the horrendous flaws of "the guy who shall be nameless", I was helping George W. Bush. My point of view was very welcome here then.
NOBODY here liked "the person who shall be nameless". Now he's supposedly the best thing since sliced bread because he isn't "their guy"? GMAFB. I don't play that way, and I don't believe the fact that people would suddenly and enthusiastically throw "the guy who shall be nameless" up on their collective shoulders just because he isn't "their guy" is either good for the country, or good for the souls of the people that all of a sudden believe they've found some sort of new hero.
I'm simply being consistent, and last I knew, that was a quality character trait. Now I find myself on the outside and playing the roll of the bad guy. I'm no longer politically correct on FreeRepublic while my views have not changed one tiny bit. Laughingly, I've now got folks telling me I belong over at some ridiculous Democrats site now. Since when did political correctness become a major part of the conservatism? Did I miss a meeting?
And incidentally, 1977 would've been Harry Caray, and the call would've been "Ball hit deep! It might be . . . it could be . . . IT IS! A home run! HO-ly cow!"
Aw...boy it must be really sad to be you, not getting sucked up to by the folks here at FR any more. Wah.
What you posted about Palin wasn’t “politically incorrect,” it was vile garbage. And it would fit right in on DU, as would your description of President Bush and your assertion that Barack Obama will be good for this country’s image
As for consistency, I consistently don’t fire my shotgun through my front door every day, but you can bet that if some guy was trying to break in through it to hurt my family, I would blast away. Barack Obama and the people in his orbit are a huge threat to this nation and you say “consistency” should require us to let them waltz into the Oval Office. That’s why you’re getting flak here at FR, because you’re pushing for a liberal result and calling it conservatism. Because you say in the name of consistency we shouldn’t vote for the more conservative and competent of two candidates. That’s idiotic, the foolish consistency that is the hobgoblin of small minds.
So suck it up, princess. As long as you’re helping Obama on this board, you’ll be getting flak.
